this is a neat little test, there aren't any wrong answers, only what you think, after answering the questionaire it tells you approximately where you stand on political and economic policy.
(numbers below 0 are to the left, numbers above 0 are to the right).
http://www.politicalcompass.org/.
Interesting test. I ended up in the same quadrant as Maggie Thatcher and Adolph Hitler (interestingly maggie was further right than Dolph), right next to Tony Blair and Jack Straw (that's not Jack Straw from Wichita who the grateful dead sang about is it?)
Anyway I'm right: 2.5
Authoritarian: 0.87
Again no major surprises.

how left or right are you?
are you a libertarian or an authoritarian?
which political party comes closest to your views?
No real surprise here. Very right-wing non-libertarian:
Labour 13
Lib. Dem, 13
Cons. 74

i have watched the discussion on this forum for some time, have never been able to commit to a response.. my question is this , while recognizing the catharsis of discussion and debate ,when do we say enough is enough and get on with it?(life).
how do we,why are we so drawn to the process of yelling at a community who largely will not hear.
Like Nathan, I too left 25 years ago. I wish that a forum like this had been available back then, maybe I would have understood better my sense of loss and insecurity. The only reason I'm here now, is not to box my shadow or chase my tail; but to help others I Know rid themselves of the shackles imposed by their association with the borg.

opening the door.
in order to make the reasoning mechanism of a witness function, the facts you have must reach the mind.
if the wall cannot be penetrated, how do you reach the mind of the witness?.

christians, what's so great about jesus?.
why do so many people feel the need to base their life on a person, they have never met, did not write any of the works on his life, and has enormous claims made about him that can not be proved to be true?.
sounds just like following the governing body of jehovahs witnesses to me.. can anyone give me a good reason for me putting trust in this man?
WOW!!!
I'll drink to that!

Thats what i'd thought too, but it turns out that it was written by Rabbi Hillel. One would think a perfect person would not have to resort to borrowing theology from a mere mortal.
