  What - if any - Religon are you now practicing?

  i know this seems like a dumb subject.. but i often wonder if many of us still believe and feel the need to worship - and not the borg either .

  so here is a poll.... what religious orginization - if any - are you affiliated ( this does not mean you had to join it)?.

  or - do you feel that everything is wrong due to the borg..and will you ever consider going to an organized religon again??.

  I found that I dont need to beleive in a god. I get by with having a healthy respect for the earth and my environment, with respect for my fellow humans (provided that they treat me with respect).
  I quit worrying about bullshit unanswerable questions that don't affect how I live my life, years ago.

  is it true that americans are the least travelled people in the world?

  if that is the case, its hardly surprising when you read all the dire warnings contained inside a us passport.

  also, i am told that americans regard the rest of the world as a very dangerous place to be.

  as more and more ex-witnesses speak out online, as we have here, it's obvious that the society has to see it as a threat.. since they probably won't come out and ban internet access for their members, how are they going to deal with us?

  many of us make no secret of our names and locations, and for the rest it would not be hard for someone with the org's resources to find that information.

  as things like the child abuse issue, the u.n. membership, and the blood issue become more publicized their damage-control efforts will have to increase.

  The Moses Legacy

  this is the title of a book in my history guild catalogue which says that moses was two separate people.. one called kamose.. the other was a egyptian prince called tuthmoses.. ver interesting idea

  Who wrote Genesis?

  years ago i recall hearing theories that the first five books of the bible may not have been written by moses, and that in fact they may have had several different writers.

  i know that the wts's stance on this is that moses did actually write these books.

  reading my bible this morning, i came across a couple of passages wich may indicate that genesis did have at least two different authors.. following the death of his father, abram was commanded by his god to leave haran.

  Good points everyone, thanks. You're correct on your point too Old Hippie, I hadn't actually thought about it that way. Seedy, I think I may have read about the four authors you mentioned in a book by Karen Armstrong; you haven't happened to have read anything by her? If not i highly recommend "the battle for god' and 'a history of god'.

  ... on the news yesterday they announced that president bush had made a statement regarding the elections in zimbabwe, that they were 'severely flawed' or something, and that the result shouldn't stand.

  this caused her much amusement.

  i know there's not that much of a comparison, but it's funny how people forget, isn't it?.
