Pretty harsh words. I found Dakota's argument to have a lot of substance. Let's avoid personal attacks like this and stick with the issues.

Let's get real. One of the only things that has prevented a major world war in the 50's and 60's was the nuclear deterrent. Take away America's nuclear capability, you leave her defenceless. How long then do you think it'll be before someone like Saddam or Kadaffi would be goose-stepping down Pennsylvania Ave.??

How true LostDiamond. This is one of the biggest problems facing North Americans. We have scumbag, ambulance chasing lawyers running around encouraging people to sue over any imagined transgression. Most of these are just peoples own stupiity. Threat of lawsuits make it difficult for any business to operate. The only people getting fat over this are the lawyers and insurance companies. This has got to stop somewhere.

Fear persecution?? I thought the WTS welcomed persecution, go out of their way to encourage persecution. Afterall isn't it persecution that proves they have the truth?

i'm sure this one has been done before, but what was your first "sin" after leaving jw.. i'm not necessarily talking about sleeping with a transvestite - or maybe that was it, :-).

after 23 years of not being in touch with the man, i am having a good relation with him.
You're lucky Viv. Hold onto this time and cherish it. When my father passed away, we had way too many issues left hanging between us. If there were any way to turn back time, the only thing I would change would be my relationship with my dad. Make the most of this, I wish I had.
