When I had my "reading" done..I never spoke a word. Never answered a question and what was eerie is the details that this woman knew. Was enough to convince me that I do believe that some do have a "gift". I tried very hard to not show any expression on my face or give any indication of body language that she could pick up on. Was a really cool experience..but kinda spooky.

This put a smile on my face this morning. Isn't it amazing how us ex dubs were suppose to be miserable? Life would have no meaning? We would be lost and wandering. Look how many of us have gone on to live full and productive lives and truely are happy! Happy to be our own persons, to be able to exhibit our individuality. Happy that our thoughts and actions are no longer controlled. Happy to be able to go thru life learning as we go and realizing that we truely are good people! I know for me, I have never been happier. I know who I am and best yet..I like who I am! :)

Why did I leave after 50 yrs a JW
by londoner ini am not posting this to justify my actions, i am doing so for the benifit of any witnesses who are unsure about there feelings toward the "truth".
i was a reguler pioneer for about 8 yrs, back when it was 100 hours a month, befor thet i did a couple of yrs as a vacation pioneer, they later changed the name to auxilery pioneer, and during the following 20 yrs i had a few intermitant spells as an auxilery when i had time to.
during my pioneer years i have given talks at circuit assemblies and had assignments at district assemblies .

Welcome Londoner! Thank you for sharing...enjoy this new found freedom. Enjoy the that heavy weight taken off your shoulders. You do have a wonderful journey ahead of you. For me I had no idea how wonderful and great life could be once I got out of the shadow of the Borg. Congrats on your exit!

Vigil for my daughter, please.
by outnfree inas mentioned in my other thread, my daughter lena is having brainsurgery on monday, jan 24. the surgery will last 6-7 hours, so i'm hoping the board members will be willing to make a special effort tomorrow to send positive thoughts, healing energy, good wishes and prayers her way.
we are asking that the surgeon's hands be delicate and skillful and that lena does not bleed overmuch and that brain damage be minimal (if not non-existant).
surgery begins at 8 am eastern standard time (us), but we have to have her to the hospital by 6 am, so this is "good night!

wow..interesting! I had a tarrot card reading done in Jamaica by this very very old native woman there. Although I won't go into details, I can tell you that indeed her reading wasn't cold and she was very intuitive w/my past and my future (was done two years ago this Spring and a few of the things she predicted have come true). It was quite the experience!

I went in Summer of 86...and I too loved every minute of it. I like research and reading. Plus, it was in a different city so for a young girl it was an opportunity to travel (LOL....how pathetic!). I came across my book a year ago...highlighted in two different colors, three different colors of ink...scriptures quoted. I was gonna toss it but gave it to someone who has a "collection" of jw books.

How does God communicate with us?
by JH inin the past, god spoke to humans through angels, prophets, and jesus.
today, there are no prophets, angels don't show up anymore, and jesus isn't there to speak to us.. we can talk to god through prayer, but how does god talk to us?.
so, other than the bible which is pretty outdated, how can god communicate with humans?

I don't believe God (or whoever your Higher Power is) speaks to us thru words..it is thru actions seen, thru feelings felt. It is a thru spiritual awakenings that bring a sense of calm and peace to us.

For me there are different levels of trust. There are some that I trust my life with and there are some that I trust very little with. I do tend to be more of an optomistic person in life and probably give people the initial benefit of the doubt often, but I am comfortable with that. I don't want to go around mistrusting everyone and anyone I run into, but I do realize that I do need to be aware of situations and possiblities.
