Their faith is so fragile that they could be swayed in their beliefs by merely associating with someone who has a different viewpoint. Makes you wonder if their conviction could be so easily broken, maybe there isnt much substance to it?
I have thought this so many times with the dubs stance on shunning! Exactly! I am sorry to hear of what you are going thru right now....it echos so many of our experiences on the board. Unfortunately, they are the ones missing out on life.........

I started a thread Saturday morning about eyegirl and I getting ready to attend our brother's 30th bday party. What a blast we had! Lot of laughs (omg..... some that "maybe" we will tell you guys about someday!) and quite a bit of beer. It was just so much fun! We made sure to grab the camera BEFORE the drinking got to "that point and beyond"!
Only strange thing of the weekend was heading over to our grandma's for lunch on Sunday, driving up and seeing Mom and Dad's truck parked in the driveway (they are still active dubs). Kinda thru eye and I for a loop, but we worked thru a bunch of emotions very fast and handled the situation. There was no confrontation w/our parents, so all ended well.

another first for eyegirl and I........
by scootergirl inas many of you know, eyegirl and i are sisters.
we also have a brother (no longer dub) who lives a few hours away from us.
today eye and i (love saying that) are making a road trip to our brother's to help celebrate his 30th birthday-this being the first party that all three of us will be at together celebrating one of our bdays.

Oh Shutterbug........YOU take pics? LOL.......I don't know! (just joking).........but you are exactly right. What went around came around. Mom had the upper hand for so many years by keeping us "kids" apart. Now that we are all adults (34,30 and 24) there is nothing NOTHING that she can do now! Part of me does feel sorry for our parents.....they miss out on so much joy in our lives. Weddings, grandbabies, their adult children.......what a senseless sacrifice.

I can't say that I would blame the dubs for this death. I agree with lyineyes.......it could have been anyone knocking on that door. Unfortunately, the mother is at fault. She left a child unattended in a bathtub.

This morning when I woke up I was overwhelmed w/feelings......something that we never got to do as kids, we get to do as adults. Granted, the kegger will be a big difference between child and adult birthday parties (LOL) but the fact is what a wonderful celebration to be involved in! Our parents tore us siblings apart for many many years, so events like this really are important to us. Just that we are together again and not under any rules (other than NO sleeping in the yard this time, eye!) makes my heart swell with feelings.
I was without my brother and sister for so many years-I had absolutely no idea just how strong sibling bonds can be. I love them both so much.
Now......I am off to pack my bags! Yahoo......see you guys on Monday!

Please forgive me...!!
by ELON14 ini'm new here and this is the first post i make (i promise that more will come).
i have been following most of the posts made here quietly for about 4 months and i would like to thank all of you who are called apostates for the well documented and researched material you have presented here.thanks to you i know now the truth about the wt organization and i'm no longer blind and misled.
i disassociated myself about 2 months ago after 15 years of very "faithful" service to the society.i was regular pioneer for 12 years and an elder for 8 years, i served mainly as the service overeer.my experience was published in the 2 of the society's magazins.. as i was a very zealous and prominent elder in my circuit i zealously promoted the organizational rules and i allowed myself to be fully used by the society to promote those mind controle techniques that now i know hurt those who were my sheep.
