Service has rarely been about genuine love for people. When a person devotes their time to please men or just to measure up, it is unlikely that they will be able to convey any sincere love when they meet others that they look down on. It is an example of thrashing wildly without accomplishing anything.
there are certain wt terms that sound biblical but really just puff up the pride.
hundreds of times the wt has used the term honest-hearted in their literature.
it sounds biblical, if for no other reason because we hear it so often in jw circles.
Vanderhoven is spot on as well as the spirit of the post. The term is used to manipulate the thinking through association. “I am honest-hearted so I should be responding to JWs.” “I am a JW so therefore I am honest-hearted”
The use of terms like these divide people into 2 camps - JWs and the Wicked World. There are no gray areas, everything is black and white - even if we know that flawed people exist in both. Elevating some above others has never created unity or a sense of genuine brotherly love. JWs are devouring each other as they compete for the top slot of “most honest-hearted”.

I know because I have lived it. i will not say what my login gave me access to, so let’s just say that they don’t have enough confidence in the R&F to give them access to all the information they have online. And we are not just talking about old publications that many JWs had in their possession or had access to at the KH. WTC encouraged all the congs to destroy those years ago but they were simply relocated to the homes of the “faithful” who could not stomach pitching them into the rubbish pile. A diligent search will provide access to older publications if you know where to look.
What I am referring to is access to directives and info that is intended for heavies - COs, Branch Committee members, Service Dept, HLCs, and more.
More serious though is that this does not include the air-gapped CSA databases that Legal and Service have access to, which if aired, would surely bring the organization to its knees overnight. Don’t believe me? If you can live that way, then don’t and be blissfully ignorant. But know this, many honest and right-minded persons want those databases to be made public, or at least handed over to proper authorities - but WTC will die on the sword before that happens. They surely know that it would be the immediate end for them.

The Japanese have used masks for decades to prevent the spread of cold and flu when out in public. I don't know how effective masks are and don't really spend time researching it. I do see however that the mask issue is a political tool (whether they work or not) and WTC is a FOLLOWER - not a leader.
So why drop the mask mandate after making it a matter of INTEGRITY only several months ago. Maybe preparation for the Annual Meeting? Maybe following the nations to stay in good graces... Does it really matter? Not to me. It is a distraction from the real issues of:
1. Selling KHs
2. CSA lawsuits
3. Laughable doctrinal flip flops
4. Low attendance
5. Low morale
6. Low bank account balances and contributions

I recall that WTC tried to explain "God took him" to mean that he was injured by his opposers, so God transferred him to a place where he could die peacefully, menwhile providing a glimpse of what lay ahead as a reward for his faithfulness. This explanation seems to make sense. Even a broken clock is right 2X a day...
if laws were passed compelling the church to report crimes to government authorities and there was no legal way around it and the church was forced to comply and did comply, nobody would confess their sins.
it wouldn’t stop people from committing crimes, they just wouldn’t tell their church about it.

Being a WTC apologist either breaks you or makes you look broken. I did it for years and am still ashamed for not being intellectully honest. Maybe the better course is to let WTC apologize for its actions and policies - even if they never do that.

Whether or not you believe in the virgin birth, Matt 1:23 says that the angel announced that Mary would “conceive”. Earlier the writer says by “holy spirit” (Matt 1:18).
If the translation is accurate in its use of the word “conceive”, then Mary contributed half of the DNA and the rest was perhaps new DNA. This can only be conjecture as the scriptures do not elaborate on genetic science/engineering.
WTC has long theorized that sin comes through the DNA of the male. They may be right or just twisting the scriptures. Or maybe the hokey pokey really is what it’s all about. Who knows?!
The real question I ask is: Where is the connection to the previous spirit creature that was in heaven prior to his arrival on earth as a human embryo? In transferring the life of Jesus to the womb of Mary, something more than material DNA was surely required. WTC narrative does not allow for a life force to have been transferred - even if they say otherwise. They have never adequately explained the breath of life that God breathed into Adam at creation. They also teach that when a person dies, he ceases to exist entirely. If that is the case, then those resurrected are little more than clever duplicates of the original person since there is no uninterrupted link/connection between the past life and the future life. Would we take comfort in a promise that an identical version of one self will be recreated to live in the future? I certainly would not since it would not be ME.
Please think about this a little while before sending a knee jerk reply supporting WTC theology. This is not a promotion for an immortal soul, but rather a question about the life force itself and the role it plays in making us the individuals that we are, something more than a complex electro-chemical assemblage of DNA. Seriously, take some time to think this over.

DFing is essential to JWs. It will only be "pryed from their cold dead fingers" like a handgun. Without DFing, they fear the eye-opening influence that former members might exert on PIMIs. But wait! There's more! Now they shun inactive ones for the same reason. But wait! There's even more!!! They have begun to shun ACTIVE members that they have issue with - yes for the same reason.
