:i welcome those of your quality of character and refusal to sink into the mire of atheism or deep cynicism, .
i found these words to be so interesting.
i have seen posts (albeit few) that discuss the bible and whether or not it is of god.

Bibleboy,
Does your post to me exist? I believe it is a figment of my imagination. It must be a mirage!

Hairdog,
Ronald is not a JW, he is a Bible Student. The Bible Students are the ones who believe in "much" of what Charles Taze Russell (founder of the WT) wrote and taught. There are different Bible Students faiths, not all believe exactly the same thing.
To attack one's faith is not addressing the arguments or thought's posted by the individual. I do not take part in Trinity debates, I have in the past and find them all a dead end.
Trinitarians cannot prove that believing in the Trinity is a salvation issue. Salvation is God's department and he decides this vital issue in ones life, not believing a doctine or the Trinity.
shelby, .
i will say the same thing to you as i said to shelby.
i read your posts when they are a flower and i think you are quite a woman and you posses so much love and understanding.
You have some valid points Dave. The problem is that when one is continually kicked over and over again, they usually get the hell out of the way, there is just too much pain. I have seen several leave this forum and I am sure several more will be on their way out.
dear all,.
it is with much regret that i have decided to leave jw.com.
it is not a decision i have made lightly, in fact i had been thinking about it for many weeks now.. i am leaving because i cannot be a part of a forum that condones abuse and deliberate offensiveness towards other posters.
Sorry to see you leave Prisca. You are one of the few women on this forum that has your act together. I started posting on this forum when it first started. Things have changed for the worse. I am sure the WT is proud of what goes on here. This forum and some of the regular posters I am sure give the WT fuel to keep the info spilling over the pages of the WT and AFAKE about how evil and filthy the so called apostates can be.
"We must hate in the truest sense, which is to regard with extreme and active aversion, to consider as loathsome, odious, filthy, to detest. WT 10/1/52
i was just sitting here thinking about the many times people have asked about the airing of the dateline segment.. well, just a thought.
we can move this post up to the top once a week until the show does finally air.
this way people will not ask all the time?.
I agree with you elder25, the airing of this report will probably be a small test of faith for those in "good standing" with the WT org.
It is after the report is aired and those in "good standing" are confronted with the facts about what has been aired is when the real test of faith begans.
As far as the worlds media being slanted against Jehovah's people, that will be the attitude of those blind enough to oversee the facts and accept the continued lies of the WT. What the media puts out, and is substantiated with facts, does not mean the facts will not stand. Only in the minds of those that wish to carry on the lie will the facts be ignored.
You quoted 1 Cor 2:5 Read it again and tell yourself that JWs do not look to the wisdom of the WT and the GB for guidance. God is not in the picture unless needing to be used for convenience sake to control people.
i got this letter today from a friend of my dad who i have not seen in years.
please respond to any or all of it as you see fit.
it pretty much sums up witness mentality.
OM,
I recently helped an 18 year old out of the WT write a letter to his aunt. She also wrote a very lengthy letter expressing much of the same points that your dads friend wrote.
All in all three replies and letters equalling 11 pages were sent from us to her. She wrote over 9 pages. What transpired, was that the JW mentality of the aunt ignored the facts and tried to change the subjects presented exposing the lies and changes of the WT.
Sometimes a lenghthy and well written reply may plant a few seeds of doubt in the mind of a JW that is already questioning. From what I have read from the letter you posted, there is no doubt in the mind of your dads friend that the WT is where you and everyone else should be.
I agree with those that said to express yourself as confident and happy with your choices is probably the easiest thing to do. Let him know that you believe that Jehovah does not work through religions, but through individuals. No matter what happens, your relationship with God is not dependant upon the WTBTS.
You may also have fun with a reply letter and state that your going to college would give you the opportunity to become the smartest Governing Body member ever.
i thought it would be interesting for people to just post a few things about themselves so we can get to know each other just a bit.. try posting 10 facts about your life.. joel.
1. i was born and raised in south georgia.. 2. my favorite subject in school was math.. 3. i was in the fulltime service (bethel and pioneer) for 4 years.. 4. my favorite color is blue.. 5. mitch and i have been together over 12 years.. 6. we live in a suburb of atlanta georgia.. 7. we love to eat out and have friends over for dinner and board games.. 8. the only sport i was ever any good at is tennis.. 9. my favorite tv show of all time is the simpsons.. 10. we are both naturists and wish we could lay on the beach naked every day.
Bendrr,
There is a book that reveals tons of the trivia that you request. The book is called, CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT. It was published in 1986 by Duane Magnani. I also have a few other books with several qoutes by the WT that will give you a side ache from laughing so hard.
Too bad the JWs will not look any further than what they are told.
i have classified the books by furuli and stafford to the same pile as a. h. mcmillan's book faith on the march.
it's just one way in their trying to have an influence on those people who can't be reached by the ordinary forms of witnessing or to whom the wt literature don't appeal to.
it's sad the wts has to use these kinds of pseudo-scholarly writers or pseudo-objective methods in their trying to advance their interests.
AlanF,
Good points!
I am sure they fall on deaf ears. I have raised the same points as well as others with JWs that idolize these JW apologist. I would like to know how much the WT is paying these clowns to fleece the RF.
