  i remmeber it being said at mettings that if we didn't do the preaching work then the "stones would cry out".. carn't rememeber where it's from or whether it's a society teaching.. any one remember?

  I think we, at JW.com, should issue a CHALLENGE to www.watchtower.org

  Stop the preaching work for 6 months. A double-dog dare!!

  If, within that time frame, stones take over the preaching work, then everyone will know that JWs have The Truth™. If they don't, they'll have gone bankrupt by then, so "oh well!!"

  Searching for a Child Abuser

  i heard this weekend that a convicted child abuser was murdered in jail.

  i knew him but i don't remember his first name.

  we were in the same congregation together for a few weeks.

  JWs do believe the words attributed to Jesus at John 5:28,29 -- Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment

  The way I remember being taught, was that everyone who was resurrected would have the opportunity to prove themselves worthy of everlasting life by their works after their resurrection. Even someone like Hitler.

  they used to concern themselves with not eating blood.. so, you had district overseers like br.

  Now I'm completely confused!! When I was trying to determine the 'right' way of spelling/pronouncing it, I did a Google search for lethicin and lecithin, and got results for both.

  Now, smashing my own credibility all to crap I looked it up in my handy dandy medical dikshunarie. It's LECITHIN, and it refers to any of a group of phospholipids common in plants and animals. Lecithins are found in the liver, nerve tissue, semen, and in smaller amounts in bile and blood. They are essential for the metabolism of fats and are used in the processing of foods, pharmaceutical products, cosmetics, and inks. Rich dietary sources are soybeans, egg yolk, and corn. Deficiency leads to hepatic and renal disorders, high serum cholesterol levels, atherosclerosis, and arteriosclerosis.

  Considering the semen reference, I'm surprised the GB didn't equate eating DQ ice cream with oral sex!

  PS to SUSCARRA (editing because I've used up my posting limit for the first time EVER!)

  That information came from a medical dictionary, under the term "lecithin". Don't worry, nobody's putting semen in your ice cream!! The dictionary was stating that the body uses lecithin in fat metabolism, and certain fatty compounds are needed to produce sperm. The lecithin that's used in food preparation (i.e., DQ ice cream, etc.) is a vegetable derivative.

  hahahahahaha "lethicin"........ what a memory!!

  I remember someone in our congregation got a dressing down by the CO (this was in the 70s) for suggesting that we take our break during Saturday morning field service at the local Dairy Queen. He bellowed that DQ ice cream was FULL of blood by virtue of the fact that one of the ingredients was "lethicin" (which, incidentally, he pronounced LESSITHIN... ummm adds to yer kredibility if y'all ackshully no howta say it rite! )

  We didn't darken the doors of the DQ for many many summers, until someone had the guts to write to the DQ head office and was informed that the lethicin in their ice cream was derived from vegetable sources, not from blood. DUH!

  i have been asked to go live on channell 20 rogers t.v tomorrow night.

  to explain about the calgary man that has been shunned ffor giving his daughter a blood transfusion.9.00p.m.

  I don't know if my local Rogers station will carry the interview, but I'll set up my VCR to tape during the time she specified, and I'll let you know by posting back here whether or not the program aired here.

  Mouthy: Maybe the station will be good enough to give you a videotape of the interview. We'd love to see this.
