and i don't have the km with me to note the exact instructions and passages discussed, anyway.... last week in the service meeting, there was an unusual part that i wish i would have been prepared for.
the only material was to read a couple passages from luke and discuss how they affect our attitude toward our ministry.
To me the underlying messages are
i have smoked, i quit, but now enjoy alternatives such as e-cigs, snus, and even the gum.
i find that nicotine has a nice mental enhancement, has several medical benefits and actually may help individuals to relax and focus.
now the question is this, why does the wts have such a fetish with nicotine?
I wondered about that some time ago too. Nicotine gum, the patch, inhalers, etc would make it far easier to conceal the use of nicotine, just by virtue of the absence of the distinct odour of tobacco smoke.

You can't reform any organization whose foundation is falsehood, whose walls are corruption, and whose mortar includes the wrongful deaths and shattered lives of men, women and children who have been duped into its service.
The only forms of protest that the WTS will ever understand, and the only forms of protest that the WTS specifically attacks, are boycotting Field Service™, Meeting Attendance™ and, most importantly, withdrawal of financial support.

Why do you suppose that there is such vehement pressure on JWs to avoid association with Inactive™ people, or to avoid unnecessary contact with DFd relatives? It's because those are the channels whereby people who have genuine conscientious objections to practices within the WTS can share their justifiable concerns with the people they care about.

i could go on and on about all the things i loved, but i'll keep it brief and just mention one, rather trivial thing: music.
i love grunge and punk, and occasionally heavy metal, and can't listen to a lot of it as a witness..
Equality.
Music lessons.
Participating in team sports.
Engaging in physical fitness activities (did this anyway).
Wearing fashionable clothes.
Associating with non-JWs socially.

i see her facebook page, all of her pictures has cleavage in them, i would not want to date her because she shows too much all the time.
i am tempted to tell her to cover up her cleavage, she might not like me telling her that.

it essentially makes me feel like i am an evil, immoral, selfish imdividual who god hates (even though "evil" is really a religious term, and i am not religious, even though i don't do terrible things, even though i care about others so much that i am remaining a jw mainly for other people).
i hate not being able to express my feelings, not just about supposed gender roles, but about many aspects of life.
i think i am fair and accepting about both sexes, and all sexual orientations, and about many other things, such as a person's religion or the lack thereof.. and yet in this religion it is veiwed as a bad thing, a sin, to accept or even tolerate these things without prejudice.
