5/15 WT - WT Society Displays Condescending Attitude towards Marriage
by flipper inas most of us know the wt society has always claimed that it's dissapproved in god's sight to marry a non-jw .
although they've never made it a disfellowshipping offense, any jw who marries outside the jw organization is looked at as " weak " or lacking " spirituality " and loses certain alleged " privileges " in the congregations.
they use scriptures in the old testament as support for this.

"If a dedicated servant of Jehovah married an unbeliever, this would be an act of disobedience to God. A Christian who marries an unbeliever is NOT exemplary and lacks a real appreciation for God's gift of marriage."
Maybe the Christian™ who marries an Unbeliever™ has experienced first-hand that JW marriages are not always the Exemplary™ bed of roses the WTS would have everyone believe they are. Whose fault is that? And do those JWs who beat their partners, lie to their partners, cheat on their partners - and get away with it because they are part of the Good Ol' Boys Club Elders™ or Ministerial Servants™ - showing a proper "appreciation for God's gift of marriage"?

Yeah, the Brothers™ and Sisters™ are supposed to Love™ you so much they would give their lives for you. Why wouldn't they give you a ride to The Most Important Headcount Meeting Of The Year™?

"Do you still feel Jehovah is directing the Organization?"
by outsmartthesystem infor those of you with experience being asked this question.....or those of you that are/were elders........ what would happen if you responded to that question by saying "i don't know"?.
what would happen if you responded with "i choose not to answer that question."?
and then when they ask why, you say "because i wish to invoke my 5th amendment rights".

"Do you still feel Jehovah is directing the Organization?"
Of course. Bum-steering is still directing.

STD's and Baptism
by NewChapter inokay, so this came up on another thread, and now i really want to know the answer.. about 10 years ago, and elder told me they now ask baptismal candidates if they have an std.
maybe they ask about other communicable diseases too, but he focused on std's.
he had no reason to mention this, so i just took it as true.

I also remember an article stating that if someone is HIV positive, they should voluntarily agree not to go to book studies in people's home, attending the hall instead.
It's a shame they don't expect the same of child molesters.

Tri-Forkation
by Yan Bibiyan inthis is going to be another memorial invitation thread.. before i get to the topic at hand, i want to quickly sound off on the invitation itself.
i had seen it online weeks before the jws came with a special invitation, so the content wasnt really news to me.
however, when i held it in my hand, i couldnt help but be disgusted by the joke of an invitation that flimsy small piece of paper was.. if you are going to invite strangers to the biggest celebration of your religion, please do not hand out what looks like pieces of scrap tissue paper.

The paper is easily compostable. However the ink may not be fit for human consumption, as it may leach into your veggies. Best keep it for emergency rations should there ever be a toilet paper shortage.

Are JW women becoming a bit more bold, seems to me there is a lot of 'headship' teaching ongoing
by insearchoftruth inmy wife who is in a never ending study seems to be learning a lot about 'headship' lately, and i notice that this weeks okm shows that once again on tms night they are going to emphasize the principles of headship from the reasoning book, page 253 in the english version..
-
Scully
They've always had regular reviews of The Headship Principle™. The talks were usually delivered by the Elder™ or Ministerial Servant™ whose knuckles dragged closest to the floor.
It was one thing that I absolutely despised about the JW belief system. I watched how it gradually paralyzed my mother's ambitions. Of course, they tried to sugar-coat things, and make it appear that this was how relationships were meant to be. But then why did they insist on me performing to the best of my ability in school, when the best I could hope for was to be a wife and mother? Why did they want me to have a skill set so that I could support myself? What was the point of getting a decent education if I was going to be compelled to stifle it to raise children?
I am so glad to be out of that foolishness. When I see the JW women I used to know still stuck in the same ruts they were in almost 20 years ago, I shudder that had I not left the JWs, I would still be just like them.

It isn't "lying", it's Theocratic War Strategy™.
'While malicious lying is definitely condemned in the Bible, this does not mean that a person is under obligation to divulge truthful information to people who are not entitled to it. ...'Insight On The Scriptures, Volume 2, 1988 pages 244-245.
