but i just have to express this!

i am so proud of what we have done with sparlock.. youtube is being flooded with videos.

They can't deny they made it--the DCMA "take-down" notices they sent to Amelia Ashton are a legal claim that they own the copyrights to the Sparlock videos. The Watchtower have admitted it: Sparlock is their baby!

I posted that comment before the DCMA take-down notice was issued. Even if they did decide to can the videos related to Sparlock now, they've gone and shot themselves in the foot with a legal paper trail. I love it!

inspired by another thread on the "who are doing jehovah's will today", i did a little digging into the masterpiece.. pg 25. talks sbout khs and there is the revelation:.

"...they (khs) are built with donations made to a central fund.

in every kingdom hall, there is another contribution box for kingdom hall construction worldwide.

20 years ago when the local JWs were jonesing to build a new KH, the WTS wouldn't even give them the time of day until they had secured and paid for land. The amount of the loan would not exceed the value of the property, IOW, the property was collateral for the loan. The construction was undertaken by volunteers, i.e., free labour. The loan itself came from a fund that was comprised of donated money, and at the time, the WTS *did* charge interest.

Once the loan was paid off, the congregation was still responsible for paying a monthly per capita amount based on the number of publishers, i.e., rent.

The congregation apparently does not own the building or the property - because rent is paid to a landlord, i.e., the WTS.

just got off the phone with mil my wife handed it to me to help her mother play a dvd.. she was trying to play it on her computer and i dont even know if its capable.

it seems she needs to watch the 'faith in action pt 2 dvd for the theoschool/service/bs whatever meeting.

not being able to help her i just located the vid on youtube and emailed her the link.. .

Too bad, I was going to suggest Indian or Thai.

Something like Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka, Butter Chicken or a Biryani for Indian food, or Nguoc Cham or Pad Thai if you were going for Vietnamese or Thai. They are spicy, but sooo delicious. The dishes can be more spicy by adding hot sauces if you want.

No, there is a base that plugs in to the electrical outlet, and you set the kettle on top of the base. There's a raised area about the size of a quarter on the base that fits in the corresponding area on the bottom of the kettle to complete the circuit.

Just out of curiosity, out of consideration for someone who is deaf, clearly the kettle whistle is pretty much a useless function for you. I can see why an auto-off button would make more sense in your case, as a safety precaution.

What other features are useful for you when choosing small appliances? My deaf BIL is visiting in the summer and I'd like to be accommodating.

I have a Keurig machine for single servings of coffee and tea. I love it. The water is close to 200°F when it exits the machine. Each cup of tea or coffee is fresh, and I can use it just for hot water (for hot chocolate or tea bags or loose tea if I want that). It has lights to indicate when the machine is ready to brew and when the reservoir needs to be filled.

At work, we use a cordless kettle like this one, it works quite nicely too:

i had a fellow ex-jehovah's witness (who's a male by the way, he has a youtube channel) who sent me a message on facebook saturday morning that was very sexual in nature.

please be careful when added certain people on facebook, just an heads up.

also be careful with credit card info, giving certain private also.
