Do we notice the small things?
by kenpodragon inwhile sitting on a mountain lake in the summer in the oregon mountains, i took the moment to see what a beautiful place it was.
it had pine trees growing right to the shore, and sat at the base of mount pitt, which is a striking mountain on it's own with a majestic peak and steep angled descent on both sides.
the mountain wind blew by and set this peaceful lake into a rippled affect that looked like a natural show of energy moving from one side of the lake to the other.

Lyrics 4 all those shunned and in pain
by LyinEyes ini was watching vh1 tonite and saw the new faith hill song, called "cry".
the lyrics to it blew me away as it said the things i wish i could say to a few people who have decided to throw me away.
mainly my dad, as many of you know.

I am so sorry that you are going through this bad time. Although I was never JW I know what 'shunning ' feels like.
Whwen I was 11 yrs old, I was in juvenile court for accepting 2 chocolate bars that I knew my cousin had shoplifted, he was in court at the same time with 21 cases of shoplifting, stealing from cars and breaking and entering. His mother, my aunt convinced her brothers and sisters that I had ' led him astray ', and that it was my bad influence that got him into trouble, they all ' shunned me '.
This was especially difficult as three sisters lived adjacent to each other, we were in the centre house, so I could not play with my cousins.
Mum and Dad were very supportive to me at this time and took my side, so although I can understand the pain of ' shunning ' I can only try to imagine what that pain must be like when shunned by your own father.
I hope you can find a way to deal with this and have a peacefull life without this pain.
My thoughts are with you.

Its got me beat !

i was raised as a jw but from about 8 years of age i left at the age of 18 having never actualy believed anything about what i was being taught , that was about 28 years ago.
my mother is still one of them so i guess its never completley left my thoughts.

IMHO the problem with God, is religion.
People seem to want to use God to control others, all the religions of the world are the same ' you must do things OUR way, we are the only ones who know etc. '
I believe God is personal, and does not require the ceromonies and man made rules that all religions want to impose.
I certainly agree with Prisca and Onacruise.........spiritual, not religious.

Back in / out of the hospital
by Amazing ina week ago thursday, i realized i was developing an upper respatory problem, likely bhronchitis, or maybe pneumoina.
i have suffered with this and asthma all my life since i was 2 years old.
however, after my heart attack in may, i dreaded this happening, as the reduced oxygen can mess up an already weak heart.

Queen finally does something useful
by Angharad inin the uk there has been a big trial going on in which the former butler to diana princess of wales was charged with stealing some of her possessions after her death.
he has pleaded not guilty from the start.
this has been going on for close to 2 years, the case dramatically collapsed this morning when the queen finally decided to get off the royal butt and intervene saying that she knew he was holding some of diana's possessions.

I have new neighbors
by wasasister inthe nice lady living next door to me lost her husband last year and finally decided to move in with relatives.
although we only had a nodding acquaintance, i was sorry to see her go.
the "for sale" sign did not stay up long.

I got an APOLOGY!
by No Apologies inthe other day i called an elder and explained some of his shortcomings and how they had had a negative impact on my family.
he had little to say and did dispute what i had to say.. .
yesterday we received flowers and a card, with an apology!
