  i recall when it was released ,that's when i was a drone, how excited i felt at the prospect of reading it and formulating ways to sell it at the homes in my area.. i thought, finally a book to explain the last book in the bible and indeed one that the churches seemed to want to leave alone!.

  i sold quite a few probably because of my enthusiasm and can still remember clearly the first day when i went knocking on doors with it ,and it's been decades since.. but over time it lost it's shine and my mind started to question the explanations in it due to the scene of other things being changed in the jw beliefs.. do you remember they flogged that book so many times in the book studies even when it was found to have "newer light " eclipsing it!.

  who else remembers the printed pages with the official corrections to insert into the book ,so many that the book collapsed to be of no relevance anymore really.....what an embarrassment!.

  Most witnesses do not stay in because of the belief in the end as much as for the social networking. I know many elders who are only in because they like being a big fish in a little pond. Getting up and giving talks and having the old blue hairs tell them they give such good talks bla bla bla.

  as opposed to blind faith/cognitive dissonance and honest mistakes.. i'm inclined to think they have the best of intentions and are just wrong (primarily because the bible is wrong), but i'm willing to consider the evidence otherwise..

  i was watching the local news in the background and i heard a guy talking about 3m and how florida was getting screwed.

  i didn't hear the whole report.. later, i was switching through the channels and i saw the same guy talking to tucker carlson (fox news).

  come to find out he is the federal cdc equivalent at the state level.

  Its not the point that some may have a CEO that wants to do the right thing. Do you really want to depend on some CEO and his good will? That is ridiculous, regulation is the only way to hold their feet to the fire. What you are saying is tantamount to there are alot of people who don't want to rob banks so we don't need laws making it illegal.

  You can not get mad at a corporation. They will save your mothers life is it makes them a dime or slit her throat if it makes them a dime. Money is the bottom line of any successful corp. It would be like getting mad that a tiger bit your arm off. Its what they do. What you should be mad at and this is coming form a moderate Republican is be mad at the political system that does not regulate them. The idea of Laissez faire Capitalism regulating itself is ridiculous. It does not work no more than Communism works. The lefts idea to punish business just because they make money is just as stupid. To successfully regulate business the only way is to take out money of elections. Stop allowing corporations giving money or even non profits, no pac money nothing but an individual giving up to say 1500 dollars. People V United was one of the worst SC rulings in a while.

  for some strange reason those old geezers (and some not so old) could not recognize who they were screwing?.

  my wife was listening to this week’s bible reading about jacob, laban, and the sisters leah, and rachael.

  Trying to make sense of the bible is a complete waste of time. Its a book of fools running around doing crazy shit and say they are talking to god. A hand full of the obvious moral things such as does it really take a god to say its not good to screw your neighbors wife or steal his cow or kill him? Most every religion in the world has this crap in its code of conduct. Then you have lot who just has to screw his daughters a few mile outside of the destroyed cities of Sodam and Gomorrah , Or Jebtha burning his daughter because he made a promise to god that he would sacrifice what ever he saw upon returning from winning a battle. WTF could go wrong there. IMO the bible is one of the worst POS literature pieces ever written.

  some people i know have not gone out of their houses in weeks.

  some will walk near their homes and run right back in.

  meanwhile, i go food shopping and i see tons of people, many with masks and gloves on..

  Best we can. I live on one of the states where the Gov. is stupid and refused to issue a stay at home order. I am semi retired and can work from home, I bought a lot of extra food, TP, Bleach, PT and the rest as this started to unfold in China. I can stay in if I have to for several months. My wifes work is still going to work but they have issued a closing by the curb or in the car closings for homes and property. I bought several N95s before they were sold out and several hundred gloves. I also bought two P100 which are much better than N95s. They potentially block out 100% of the virus. N95 is N for not oil resistant and 95 for it flocks 95% of contaminates. I am hoping that the gov. will get a few brain cells and issue a SAHO, or Trump will do a nation wide one.

  Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread

  this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

  latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

  the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

  One place I agree with the left is the stay at home order. I think Trump should have issued a nation wide order a few weeks ago. I live in one of ten states where the Republican gov is not issuing a SAHO. this is total BS. I have no idea why you would resist this.

  what are people picking?.

  coal or oil powered energy.

  Most likely Natural Gas. This is the biggest producer of electrical energy in the USA, Coal is also big being the second then Atomic followed by renewable which I believe includes hydrophilic.
