is anyone a pantheist ?.

in my search for the meaning of life, it has been only a month or two since i've actually become agnostic.

my reason for the final rejection of christianity was that i could not believe a god of love, justice and wisdom would create a world that along with life/pleasure would also foster death/suffering for seemingly infinite numbers of innocent and not-so-innocent beings.

Hi Lucid,

A very interesting website, When someone askes me what my beliefs are, I would usually tell them that I am an Agnostic Neo-pagan, much the same a the buddists believe, it sort of throws them for a loop. I think it does that because I don't think most people that buddists do not beleive in a "God", They actually believe in a divine energy or force but it is not a God in a true sence.

This pantheisem, although I have heard of it before, but never reasearched it, goes much a long with my beliefs, that I have held for quite some time. It was a very interesting read.

Running into JWS

i ran into a jw couple last night at wal-mart, when i saw them i thought damn, i wish i would have seen them before they saw me.

but anyway we talked for a few minutes, and i was trying real hard to think of a reason to get out of there.

as i talked to him, i could tell he was dying to ask me, why i stopped going to the kingdom hall.

I'm in the same boat that billgoat is in, I moved a long ways away from the Congragation that I was DF'd in,infact I was a long way away when they DF'd me. So I never see any Jdubs that know me at all. When they come to the door, I spend time filling their heads with, the truth about the "Truth", but always do it in a manner that they don't suspect I am an Ex-dub myself. So really I have fun with them when I see them. I just wish they wouldn't show up on the mornings, after I had just been out to the bars till 4am, it gets kind of hard to carry on a conversation with a hangover.

Is there a way that the Watchtower could be true?

im shure that most of you could have thought about this.. there is always some nagging feeling that you have that says:.

im i gonna die at armagaddon?.

its just human nature i guess.. how do you put that silly nagging feeling out of your mind?.

The answer to this question is a resouning, NO!

If they have the truth, why do they have to use deception to prove it?

If they have the truth, why do they have to tell people that it is wrong to question it? If it is the truth, then it would no doubt stand up to doubt and questioning.

If they have the truth, I guess that is the whole point, they don't have the truth.

The JDubs don't know me here, and even if they did I'd still talk to them. None the less, I wait with baited breath for them to come to my door, just to send them away with a thought or two in their heads about the wierd beleifs they have. OUr conersations are usually friendly, and non combative, but very pointed.

Memorial policy. Is that true all over?

i was interested in the post earlier today, about how the 'emblems' were not passed to the disfellowshipped people at the memorial.. does anyone know if this is the policy now, or was it an isolated incident?.

my husband, a former elder, said he had never heard of that being done before.

but we've been gone for 4 years too.. marilyn (aka mulan).

I remember in one congreagation I attended, there was a gal that was DF'd and she had always considered herself as one of th anointed, even before she was DF'd, she still partook of th emblems during the memorial, but was always the last to receive them.

Hey are we going to have a section devoted to the persicution of Ex-JW's like the WTS puts in theirs. Surely we can have some stories about the way we get called names, and such. We could even pick out 13 different countries like the latest Yearbook has in it.

in fact i've heard lots of dodgey stories about them including them being a money grabbing, brain washing cult.. just wondered how wide spread they are though.

Hi Mimilly,

I had heard of this same thing before, there was a guy that had just came into the "Truth" and was having problems with what the Elders felt were demons. They pretty much did as you said, they burned most of his possession, and did the ritualistic scripture quoting and things, I guess to them it helped, but who knows.

Why doen't God perform miracles today?

why did jesus do miracles?.

it is alledged that some 2000 years ago a man claimed to be the son of god , or even god himself (depends what religion you are).. in order to give some weight to his cliam he did some miracles, cured a few lepers, made a slap up lunch out of some fish and bread, and took a walk on some water.. all this to prove he was gods son.. but to prove it to who?.

if you ask a witness why god doen't perform miracles today , what do they say.. we don't need miracles today we have it all written in the bible.. der.

IMHO, which is not always so Humble, I do not beleive any miricles have happened. The bible uses natural happeneings and explains them as being miricles. Even the Moses story and the plages have been scientificly explained, the parting of the red sea as well. The others that are mentioned in the scripture such as changing water to wine and such that are obvously not natural, I feel are made up to impress people and make it sound soooooooo good. That is why miricles do not happen today, becasue they are explained.

As far as Faith healers Bahhhh, As far as miricle healings, that are unexplained, Well the human body is a wonder at times and has often the energy to heal it's self. I remember a guy that healed his cancer with laughter, so many things are possible.
