  in the farkel writes a book thread, he mentioned gedanken, who was one of the more interesting posters on the old h2o.

  it reminded me of him and some other posters i enjoyed but miss now.

  That was great - and I also remember You Know!

  Does anyone remember when someone posted as though they were a GB member years ago on H2O? It fooled a few folks. Not sure how that all ended, or who did it.

  The last I talked with Maximus, he had a son who was doing some screenwriting in Hollywood on a high level. Does anyone know how that went?

  AlanF and I have talked many times. His posts were a great help to me.

  The Your Will Be Done book - yes I remember it. I'm trying to think of the book we studied as my parents were becoming Witnesses. It was in the early 1960s, and the book was from the late 50s.

  decades ago, when my brother was a teenager and i a young 20 something year old full of the truth, he got disfellowshipped for inappropriate behavior with his 17-year old girlfriend.

  he cried.

  I remember him as being a super brain. Lots of science posts. Maybe I'm wrong. Anyone else remember him?

  Maximus was a former CO/DO, I think, with a lot of WTS connections. He is honored by our current uber poster, Minimus.

  AlanF at least comes on here every once in a while. Maximus was a great poster. He and I once had like a two-hour telephone conversation. Fascinating. Also, there was the other Seeker who posted, and people got us frequently confused!

  Any others that you miss? Oh, and it's nice to have Farkel back! Hey, write that book!

  it seems that within the last two weeks comments regarding the thought that elders and ms would be demoted if their.

  children went to college was pretty popular.. i mentioned this to quite a few "on the edge" witnesses who are really pro-education and they were really interested in learning more about this, or hearing it from the .

  platform, magazine, or co (who just left last week.).

  I'm not sure what "updates" you mean. The COs are discussing the outline that includes those comments when they visit the congregation.

  Also the DC program, including the drama, presents anti-higher ed information.

  this week i was contacted by an old friend of mine who was recently disfellowshipped.

  i encouraged her to check out jwd for support, advice and friendship.

  she had a brief look but said it wasn't really for her, she would rather just "move on and have fun!".

  We've discussed this before. I know a lot of ex-JWs, and very few are involved with JWD. My guess is that I figure less than one in 10 gets involved. It may be much less than that.

  But you gotta figure for every ex active on here, there are 10 or 20 times that number who are out but not into the ex-JW websites.

  I saw Arpaio on tv a week or so ago. I watched a while before I realized who it was. He comes across as an arrogant, violent, asshole, and damn proud of it. And the look on his face when he's accused of seeking the limelight!

  There is a difference between being tough on criminals and a psychopath.

  Kathleen Campbell was a very good friend of mine for many years. Her son in law was my best friend as a Witness. We served together many years.

  Kathleen is still alive in her 90s, and doing well considering her age. She is wonderfully outspoken at times. I guess she complained quite loudly the last time the congregation had to study the Revelation book at the book study yet again!

  She has a DFed grandson that I see several times a year and who is a friend. A few years ago Kathleen wrote her memoir. Quite a life - from WW II living in London to war bride to US citizen and successful single businesswoman.

  What reaaly works on a poison ivy rash ?

  all my years of camping , hiking, yard work and gardening and now i get a poison ivy rash .

  (one week away from our vacation .

  ) i am all itchy , scratchy and down right bitchy right now .

  I've had a couple of terrible bouts with poison ivy, and trust me, there is NO shot that will clear it up in a day!!
  
  A friend had it recently, and she said she poured laundry bleach on it and it cleared up really quickly. Worth a try.
