  They are desperate for men to reach out. when i was still in just over a year ago a brother in our hall read the WT and had a beard. i remember the tme not too many years ago that shaved heads, beards, were a big no, no. if C T Russell were alive now he would be turning in his pyramid shaped grave.

  i dont know what country captain blithering comes from, but im from uk. got disfellowshipped in june this year if thats a clue. you sound like someone i know. send me a PM to see if i know you?

  How I miss the 'Truth' of my youth....

  my family moved from the city to the country.. part of the reason for the relocation was to move 'to where the need was greater'.

  i loved our new home - i was free to roam the woods and fields, enjoy the wildlife, work in our garden and feed the chickens.

  i had new friends in our new congregation.

  I agree when i came into da truwf in 81 at first it was enjoyable. There were and i believe there still are genuine people in it, but no matter how nostalgic we get about the good times we had, it is still a lie.

  The genuine ones (incluing my parents who shun me since i was disfellowshiped four months ago) are misguided and refuse to question anything that they are told to believe. THE REALITY OF THE LIE OUTWEIGHS ANY ROSE COLORED VIEW OF THE PAST.

  these days my jw past stay safely under wraps from nearly everyone.. i dont dig it up- and i see no need to talk about it with anyone.. sometimes i feel as if my past is a large and terrible secret, and i will be found out eventually.

  people can sense i am different.

  i never talk about my family.. i guess people chalk it up to being a private person or let me be a mystery.. however, there is one thing that i feel completely reveals me as having been raised a jehovahs witness:.

  What on earth happened to the magazines?

  for the first time in years today.

  to say that it took me five minutes to read the whole thing would be to flatter the rag.

  it doesn't even seem to contain actual articles any more, just headings and bullet points and pictures.

  what i have realized studying JWs,the bitter truth

  well, i have been studying jws religion ,my cousin is a jw and i have visited him a lot of times.i have watched his way of living and things like that.i have been at the district convention last week.i read so many things from both sides.i came to the conclusion that if someone believes god exists then it is so easy and he should be a jehovah's witness.sadly its true and that is why so many people are and every year they baptised even more.. stories about jws reducing?wrong.. facing problems?

  false.. everybody in the convention had an ipad ,iphones etc with the bible in it.

  yeah spirituk some fairytale, i was disfellowshiped last week and can look foreward to not speaking to my parents fo the rest of my life unless its on quote, " essential family matters" = bullshit.

  Also, hows is this for divine theocratic justice. I was not present for the JC and was judged by an elder who has had a grudge against our family for a numbr of years. impartial, i think not. A total stranger who does not know me and another elder who i have known for years who is a staight down the line company man.

  Jw = controlling cult. dont be fooled by the nicey nicey act before they dupe you into baptism. In the words of the eagles in the song hotel california. ,

  you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.

  Rumor: April 3, 2015 start of Great Tribulation?

  on another forum, somebody mentioned that there is a growing belief with those high up in watchtower hierarchy that the great tribulation will begin april 3, 2015. evidently, one has to check the skycharts for that date and compare with 33 ceand also compare with the history of jws for past 40, 80, 120 years.

  dont ask me to verify the rumor...these things come and go.

  im sure lots of people in hq believe all sorts of things.. .

  i dropped off my wife the other day at the cuircit ass and driving out of the car park i was flagged down by an elder i know.

  he was and still is one of the genuine ones, a real solid guy.

  anyhoo, he tells me to come back as we are so close to the big a and he also tells me that a new bible is gonna be released.

I say to him, how is that gonna work and he just says to me , come back and you will find out. I will find out anyway and proberbly before him, but it must be true because he would not lie i am sure of that.

  ive seen the threads on here about a new NWT, but now i have heard it from the horses mouth. any thoughts ?

  I have just published my first book. ( consequences to follow )

  i stopped going to the meetings last september and told them that i didn't want to be badgered.

  to be fair, they have not visited or called in nine months, apart from passing on their hello's to my wife and daughter who still attend.

  anyhoo, i have had a fair amount of time to do pretty much what i have wanted over the past 9 months and so i have just finished my book.
