Any information about a special talk on Marriage in December 2024

wife was not available so they asked me to tell her about a special talk on marriage next week.

I have a friend who pretends he is a PIMI but is really only hitting about 50% on the meeting front. He has no problem missing a CO visit or even an assembly. He hangs out with his brother who is a Hell's Angel. He has this whole weird nerd life and circle of friends outside of the KH. He has like role playing games night at this house and goes to comic con and stuff. This is all happening in his 40s.
Well, he ended up getting a girl pregnant out of wedlock. He was booted and went though all the Bullshit to get back in. While, actually he didn't have to do much anything other than say sorry. I think they were just hoping a young family would be attending the hall. FYI, he married the girl.
The elders made no effort to contact the girl or try and study with her.
My story is I stopped attending at 16 and met my wife at 31. Once they found out who I was, there was nothing but endless harassment to both of us. They would literally call me for a study and call her an hour later for a back room meeting. We eventually just eloped and told them to fuck right off. Sadly she went back.
The way my wife was treated and my friend was treated was just day and night. It still pisses me off to think about it.

We have a group of single ones in our hall ranging the age of 9 to 50. It is kind of creepy how they all hang out together. One of them has some serious mental health issues and is 48 and never worked a day in his life.
Lately this 24 year male who is a real social climber has been hanging with this 15 year old girl who is turning into a real pretty thing. Her parents think he is great because he is going to be an elder by 30 ( by default ).

About 10 years ago, I knew a JW women who committed suicide. She was about 45, unmarried, no children and came from a large JW family. She was a PIMI till the end.
I often wonder about the toll on the single ones in the cong, especially with there being more women than men. The elders also seem a little more liberal with men finding non-JW mates but if you are a women, they are right in your business.

In 2020 when Covid come apon humanity , the only thing they knew about the virus was it was very similar to MERS ( Middle Eastern Respiratory ) which has about a 40% fatality rate. The health authorities were justified in being cautious. The accusation that the scientific community was lying requires the premise they already knew everything about the virus which isn't true.
The 2021 when covid was novel to humanity , there was a 14 fold reduction of hospitalizations, ICU admissions and covid deaths between being vaxxed and unvaxxed. In 2024 when separated by age and adjusted per 100,000 cases, there is no evidence that being vaccinated leads to an increase in heart attacks, strokes or Cancers.
In 2024 chances you are have some immunity either though vaccination or infection and life goes on but please don't think anyone has been vindicated with there anti-vaccination views. I don't know why more ex-jws don't have more of a problem with poorly educated halfwits telling highly educated people they don't know what they are doing. It is kind of the whole premise of the WTS.

with ww3 on the horizon the watchtower is bringing out their best hits on the issue of neutrality and the latest instalment on jw.org with stephen lett has the theme " why ancient israelites were allowed to go to war but as a christian you can't " or to paraphrase for a 2024 audience " why the modern state of israel is allowed all the nuclear weapons to defend their borders but you as a western european or north american you aren't supposed to compliant against open border policies and uncontrolled illegal migration" isn't that the exact same rhetoric or is it my imagination?
so one of stephen lett's go to arguments is that christians do not take up arms because we don't live in ancient times where israelites had a mandate to occupy the holy land where as we gentile christians we don't.

Tis the season
by garyneal inseems like i just pop in here every now and then to see what everyone is up to.
just like the previous years, i check in during the holidays to let everyone know about the annual christmas card exchange.. blondie used to lead this several years ago and i was involved for about 3 to 4 years before it began to fall off.
for those of you who participated back then, i still have your addresses and have just sent off this year's christmas cards to everyone.

As I learned the entire religion was just the revision of a failed prediction that the world was suppose to end in 1914 and later the generation of 1914 was not suppose to see the end of the system of things, I not only didn't care about they have felt about Christmas, I broke the rules and flouted it. I didn't care about gift exchanges at work, I didn't care about saying Merry Christmas back to someone, I didn't care about visiting non-witness family on Christmas day.
I didn't see see the point of worrying about 3rd century Christians choosing the day of the winter solace to celebrate the birth of Christ when I couldn't understand bullshit like the understanding of the overlapping generation 1995.
I sure hope I run into some of the elders this season and wish them a Merry Christmas just in case some wizard has a vision or something. The hearts of the governing body grew three sizes that Christmas eve, it was a Christmas miracle.

putin has warned that this will now give him no choice but to retaliate against nato nations.. the biden administration and the democrats in congress want to make sure that the war escalates to such a point that trump won't be able to bring peace to the war in ukraine.

The US economy is 20 trillion dollars. Donald Trump 2016-2020 added 7.2 trillion to the national debt his first go around. The majority of US aid has been soon to be decommissioned military equipment. Hardly any of the money even leaves the continental United States. It just goes to manufacturing jobs in the American rust belt. The spin off for the oil and gas and mining industries by cutting off Russia from the world order , far surpasses the help we give Ukraine. Half of Europe now is being heated by American LPG.
The idea we are making some significant sacrifice helping Ukraine is absolute horseshit.
