in terms of cold, hard, non-partisan evidence, (and i realize that will eliminate some of yours' ability to respond) what are the arguments for how much or how little emphasis jesus, primarily, and secondarily the early christians, put on using and promulgating the divine name?.
jesus words "let your name be sanctified" come to mind immediatly, but what did that seem to mean to jesus, and how often did he seem to use the divine name?.
i am vaguely aware of the arguements that the nwt went overboard in "reinserting" the divine name.. edited by - sixofnine on 17 december 2000 15:18:58
Good responses from all here. On the lighter side:

kind of a sad but inevitable end to a special and unique place on the net.
free speech is severely limited in the truth, and the wide range of opinion and viewpoint between the old school and the new school i'm sure made operating such a site a challenge.. for me the most facinating thing was the way one could see thinking troubled witnesses contrasted with the ones who were the mindless products of an organization.
i think it was a valuable window into the worldwide picture of what is happening today in the religion.. the site was helpful to me, and for that it holds a special place with me.
Welcome RR! Good to have you here. Btw, interesting homepage.

Hello again, Nelly!

Helen,Interesting job you have. There are many states that are moving to close their institutions where retarded citizens have lived most of their lives. They are being placed in group homes throughout their communities often separated from life long friends. It is heartbreaking to see this happen. Elderly parents of these residents are now very concerned about what will happen to their son or daughter
after they are dead. In my area, many retarded citizens living in group homes have jobs or attend the workshop designed for them. The ones I feel for are those requiring complete custodial care who are shoved in the first available nursing home and forgotten about, away from everything and everyone they've ever known and loved. I'd like to hear about your job if you ever feel like talking about it.

on the first day of college, the dean addressed the students, pointing out some of the rules.. "the female dormitory will be out-of-bounds for all male students, and the male dormitory to the female students.
anybody caught breaking this rule will be fined $25 the first time.".
he continued, "anybody caught breaking this rule the second time will be fined $50.
LOL@the season pass.
so what does everyone think of bush finally winning.. is it a good thing?
Angharad, President George W. Bush-that's not a good thing. It's a great thing, IMO. Spoken like a true Republican here. I cast my vote for him-my first presidential election.

We the people, now have the perfect opportunity to make certain we never have another election from Gehenna, where voters don't cast their ballots properly and are unaware of procedures and regulations to make their votes count. It's up to the people to educate themselves concerning these policies-open your eyes and ears!! Read and learn to comprehend what you're reading. Above all, ask questions!

This isn't a new problem. Problems with voting machines, ballot boxes, absentee ballots and the like occur during every election but because of the closeness of this one, now it's all of sudden unfair. Give me a break. Make voting uniform across the nation. A suggestion was made to use pictures of the candidates beside their written name for those voters who have trouble reading(a politically correct way of saying illiterate). Only in America. It's time to shed our image as a nation of dumbasses. The world can only be shaking their collective heads.
