i am cassilines husband.
i know cassiline has alot of friends that monitor this board so i thought i would post a surgery status on cassiline to let everyone who cares about her know how everything is going.
first of all, i would like to say thank you to the owner of this board, friends and aquintances of cassinline, for all the help you have provided not olny for her but for others that are out there with problems who seek the assistance from people that have a similar state of understanding about the jw religion.
Hugs to you both and wishes for Cassi's speedy recovery!

Do you have an Asian fetish too, Gotcha?!! [:D
monday morning my 14 y/o son was having severe abdominal pain in the lower right abdomen...diagnosis....appendicitis.
needless to say an emergency appendectomy was performed.
all went very well as they did the procedure laparoscopicly and therefore he went home in 24 hours and is recovering nicely.. my question/thought to others is this: i was df'd 2 years ago.
If ever faced with the decision about blood I would do so solely based on medical opinion. As I am not a JW anymore, I no longer worry if it's acceptable to God or not. Even watching the WTS constantly change it's stance on the use of blood makes me realize it never really had anything to do with God in the first place. I find it utterly ridiculous that the WTS says whole is bad but broken down in parts in OK. Talk about stretching!
I do agree that blood should not be used as the fix all. I would definitely opt for alternative treatment first if applicable. But if my life was ever in danger I would not hesitate to make the decision to use blood. And when I have children someday, I can imagine my resolve would be even stronger to do so.
Cheryl, the fact that hubby did not put up a fuss about the issue and simply deferred it to you (AGAIN as usual - haha) shows that he probably feels the same as you but is just too weak to stand up against the family/congo/WTS. Damn, did we have the most spineless husbands in the world or what?!!
Cheryl, you are a fantastic mother. Never doubt your instincts to protect and save those boys. I often think back to that letter my mom wrote to me blasting you as an awful mother. Saying that even a dog wouldn't leave her young. If she could only see how much those boys love you and how close you are to them. You have a better relationship now than ever and all 3 of those boys can see which parent truly loves them and will always be there for them.
Hugs to my sis,
Shauna

1. What is your favorite color? Blue and Black
2. What is your sun sign? Taurus
3. What is your poison of choice? Any red wine, Cosmo's, Long Island's, and of course Sex on the Beach!
4. The one celebrity that you would sleep with if you could? Male: Antonio Sabato Jr. Female: Morena Corwin (Frederick's Model)
5. Musical Inspiration? Depeche Mode, Sarah McLachlan, The Beatles
6. What is your favorite movie? Damn that's way too hard! So I Married an Axe Murderer, Real Genius, Fight Club, Memento, on and on.
7. Do you prefer to be too hot or too cold? Hot
8. Your biggest fear. Allowing my self doubts and lack of self-esteem to be my biggest enemy to happiness.
9. What do you think is your greatest personality asset? Non-judgemental, sincere love for others, and I'm oh so nice! Always have been NICE!
10. What do you think is your biggest personality flaw? Not believing enough in myself.
And btw, I can personally attest to the fact that anewlife aka Cheryl's greatest personality asset is her sincere, genuine caring, concern for others. She's my "SIS" and I love her deeply.

well, my best friend is getting married next summer.
i'm very excited for her!
she's an inactive jw and everyone on her father's side are active jws as well as her sister.
Aahhh, Harmony! That really sucks how the WT could ruin the most important day of a person's life.
Since your friend is only inactive I can see where she'll have many problems. She must not be having the wedding in the Kingdon Hall, she wouldn't have even been allowed to ask you to be a part of it. Is her hubby-to-be a JW? If not (I know this sounds bad) she could "blame" her worldly husband for wanting a non-religious ceremony. But she must then not expect to see many of the current JW's she wants to invite.
Unfortunately she can't have all that she wants on her wedding day. She will have to decide who she would rather please....herself with having you in the ceremony, her family, or the congregation. She will piss off someone. And I fear that anyway she chooses she will be setting herself for problems.
But I wish her all the happiness in the world. And I hope you do get to share in that!

my name is cari.
i am fairly new here.
here is my story.. i was "raised in the truth".
WELCOME CARI!!!
I too can relate to much of your story. Raised as a JW, pioneered for 4 years, married at the tender age of 18 not knowing what the hell I was doing. I left the Borg 3 1/2 years ago along with my marriage. I too was only 24 and found it quite strange to live MY life for the first time. I felt so dumb for all of my naivity and at the same time had experienced with my marriage what many in the "world" hadn't even if they were 10 years older. In most ways I felt like a 16 year old experiencing life for the first time.
Now at 28 I am happier than ever. Still struggle with the after effects of the WT. Still finding my place in the world. But that in itself is what makes me happy...because I know I'm free! And I figure I'm kinda in college right now as far as mental age & experience goes! What fun!!!
Good luck to you in your own journey. Look forward to hearing from you on the Board.

just a question.
actually a friend of mine, alex, (who hopefully might read this and commence posting on this board) has been insisting for 20 years that women are naturally bi sexual.
i laughed at his claims.. but now, looking around here, and based on numerous group chats ive had with women on this site, there seems to be some evidence that his theory is correct.
I obviously wholeheartedly agree with you Andee, as I do engage in bi-sexual activity while in a committed relationship. It does all depend on the people involved.
Nick & I have our own rules with each other. We know our boundaries and why we don't want to cross them. We could not be in an open relationship. For us it would lead to too much jealousy. I know that sounds strange but true. It's just what works for us. And only us!
I did want to say something about what Refiner mentioned about men being bi-curious. It seems to me that bi-curiousity almost always applies to women. If a man expresses an interest in what it would be like to be with another man, he's instantly labeled gay even though he may never act on it or even want to. But when a woman is bi-curious, she is simply that...curious. No one calls her a lesbian because she wonders what it would be like to kiss a woman or even do something more. It is a double standard created by our homophobic society.

Sorry Moe, I thought you initially said "attracted" to women. Solely appreciating the woman's form in no way makes you bi-sexual or even curious. Who doesn't enjoy the form of a beautiful woman?!!!
