The WTBTS loves to be viewed as the guardians of all knowledge and expertise . The Organization is a descendent of the exploitive "priestcraft" that , at all times, has claimed to be the mouthpiece of God while the truth is that every individual has a direct line to the Divine. It is the knowledge of individuals that is bringing down this exploitive ediface. From Pythagorus , Buddha, and numerous other individuals down to our day , humanity is being liberated by ideas and workable knowledge that is beyond the control of any exploitive organization . The WTBTS is against all other sources of insight that might take adulation away from them. This has been apparent from their beginning and from their reluctance to accept any authority unless they somehow get credit for recognizing its validity. All fields serve as examples of this exploitive arrogance : Pschology, Education ,Medicine, History etc. You name it and they , The WTBTS , somehow has the best and last word. But the internet is putting an end to all this and it represents still another advance coming from individuals .

does the society cast doctors in a bad light?.
i'm asking this as i feel that jehovahs witnesses often blame doctors or feel they are not doing their job properly if they wont operate without blood.i feel these negative attitudes toward doctors came from the society, but i'm not sure if it was through publications, rather through talks on assemblies and by circut overseers.. there seems to be an attitude that if a doctor cant operate without blood , he cant be a very good doctor.. what really annoyed me though is that children were taught that having a blood transfusion was like being raped.this is a disgusting attitude to show and teach, and i was vocal about this.. the doctor is there to save lives, to teach that he is like a rapist if he thinks giving blood is the best way to do so , makes me very angery.. are any of these things in print , or was the society clever enough to only teach these things by word of mouth?

yes, i'm afraid they must have come to this conclusion on their own that "there is no jehovah.".

Down South there are churches that claim to be impartial regarding race however, there are no "Blacks" among them. How do they live with such hypocrisy? Very simple! They just don't talk about it. That's the way it is with the Governing Body. Woe to the Body member that talks about the hypocrisy of the Governing Body !!

What would you do if religion collapsed?
by Prisila inat this point in my life i feel very confident that leaving the jws was the best thing for me.
however, 25 years of brainwashing goes a long way.
(for arguments sake) if religion collapsed today, would you feel you made a mistake in leaving the wbts?

Fear is a powerful motivater but stop and think of the real reasons why you left the WTBTS. Was it because they make mistakes or was it because they are dishonest. Do they justify their deceitful "means" by pointing to the rightous "ends". Their style is deceitful yet they will argue that it is "shrewd". They are a "tricky" organization and if you decide to go back because of fear you will become just like them. We left because the WTBTS does not have the heart to be forthright about its History, its Techniques, or its Tyranny. Can they be what they are and still have Divine backing ? Impossible ! If there is a metting out of justice to religious organizations on a large scale then the WTBTS has much to fear. They seek and demonstrate the kind of power that must pass away if there is to be a better Earth. If you go back you will be under that power and you will have to turn a deaf ear to injustice and deceit. Fear will have caused you to sacrifice your inner core. It is not easy to walk on the edge where "conscience" meets "fear" but we have been forced to do it.

Religious freedom is being denied!
by tyydyy ini'm sure someone else has already thought of this but i wanted to see what discussion came from this.
i was raised as a jw and left at the age of 35. i still do the dance to keep from being disfellowshiped so that i don't lose all contact with my family.
the thought just came to me that as i went through my life my religious freedom was being denied by coersion.

The issue of "full disclosure"has yet to be aired in courts. To date it is incumbent on the convert to dig out all the subtlties and issues before becoming a member. This rule is outdated by the modern use of psychological techniques to lure unsuspecting members into the fold. Some day it will become clear that people are being hurt by religious organizations like the WTBTS and such organizations will be required to make "full disclosure" of lost or pending law suits so that a potential convert can make an informed choice apart from coersive techniques. Just think what you might have done if the WTBTS was required, bylaw, to inform you that.... "By becoming one of Jehovah's Witnesses you will be required to give up the following Civil and Human Rights: etc. Please see the following pending cases involving the loss of the aformentioned rights; etc "

No one wants Bill or his family hurt and I personaly would not think less of him if he diassociated himself . However, given the valiant history of Silentlambs it would be inconsistent to sidestep the final unrightous act of the WTBTS. As far as damage control , this forum and others like it serve to keep the truth in the public domain. In addition, there will will be others who will ralley behind this issue untill the number of martyrs generates a loud public outcry against the WTBTS'S draconian methods.

Disassociation is not an alternative . All things considered , the WTBTS is filling up the "cup" that they ultimatly will have to drink. This is one of those rare occasions where the whole world will be able to see how they handle judicial proceedings.

Yes, Farkle has the right idea, its an evolving process not a" silver bullet" situation. The child abuse issue has given thrust to an evolving downward spiral. I don't believe any other issue could have done it . That issue makes certain that all the little WT "spiders" will be pursued relentlessly on THE INTERNET.

Max, your thoughts are good ones. In other words, since disfellowshipping is certain, Bill should "choose" the most advantageous reason for that action. Let speaking to the media cause the action thereby strengthening the case against the WTBTS as perpetrators of actions that threaten "the peace saftey or morality of the community."
