There is no way to reconcile such things with the existence of an omnipotant ( not to mention loving) God.

Baby's "second head" removed -- no moral issues described?
by AlmostAtheist inin this news article, a baby is described as being born with a second head, referred to as "the parasite".
as a parent, i would have had a hard time looking at this under-developed conjoined twin as a "parasite".
it really looks like a second child, though one incapable of independant life.

In my opinion,we are witnessing a progression. While it appears the WT is on the offensive, the truth is that they are on the defensive. They no longer have control. The fight is being brought to them because of the Internet and the networks that are forming. Indiscreet DFing, DAing, and Shunning will not stop this. In fact , it will only hasten the end of Shunning and thereby the end of centralized control of the congregations.

When you die, I suspect you wake up crying
by IronGland inthis post isn't about the paranormal or whether there is, in fact, life after death.
rather, it's about the mistaken philosophical conclusions to which atheists sometimes come.
2. the passage of time is not a process.

IronGland are you saying that "all that is " exists as an eternal (timeless non moving ) tapestry (so to speak)?

A change of environment does not transform us. Many men of fame have found Paradise in common places.

Intelligence
by onacruse inthis matter has been brought up for discussion here many times before, but for certain reasons i ask that you will patiently bear with me as i bring it up yet again.. what constitutes intelligence?
is it (among many possibilities):.
1) the mere accumulation of knowledge...factual information?.

A good question for Sheldrake : if the Universe is a living organism , is it conscious?

Direct perception of what is. Free of conditioning. There is only one intelligence. Knowledge is time related. Intelligence is timeless perception. There are no problems to solve, just action guided by timeless perception. Thinking is a tool with limitations because it relies on knowledge. Intelligence is something entirely different. It is direct understanding as though all things were language. Language without language so to speak.

Do you think that the "U.N." will one day ban all religions?
by JH infor many, religion is the root of terrorism and war.
since the beggining of creation or evolution, mankind is at war not only for religious reasons, but economical ones too.
oil is a good example.

A major nuclear event traced to religious fanaticism, through fear this might generate a united secular movement against organized religion. It would be similar to the kind of global unity we could expect if a comet were about to impact the Earth.

The Truth or the Way ??? Just a thought
by blueztunez ini don't bother to query the "brothers" about their doctrine any longer i just get the old run around (not so here) so my question or rather statement is this.
the truth (i feel) is in the bible and well the jw's do use the text to some degree but why oh why are they not in "the way" as the first century christians called their beliefs ?
"the way" being a practice of christian beliefs\values ect .

Letting Life live through you is The Way. It is not belief , nor is it dogma. These things are dead.
