The remarks against supporting Silentlambs are serving the Watchtower. This is the first time in the history of the WTBTS that they have met an organized opponent that has the " moral highground " hands down ! Do your own thing but when the call goes out, support Silentlambs because it is spearheading the very first morally based movement against WT tyranny. Don't underestimate the power of being organized and having the "moral highground".

Those in a position to call Brooklyn
by hillary_step inthe allegations of sexual abuse against at least one child and subsequent attempts to cover over the crime made against theodore jarcacz are extremely serious.
they have of course, yet to be proved one way or the other and theo jaracz has the right of proper representation both outside and within the walls of the wt, and should be allowed to defend himself against these accusations.
many persons who have in the past been accused of 'gross sins' become victim of an investigation by elders.

To add a little more to the "stew". If Jarez is involved it is likely that he is not alone. His "trail" through the organization is now suspect. Who are his favorites? Where has he been? Who sponsored him?

Thankyou for sharing. Very courageous. It confirms the self-assuming incompetence of the Kingdom Hall counselors.

The future of this site
by DanTheMan ini just took a look at h2o, which of course was the pioneering internet jw discussion board.
at one time, it was the place.
then this site came along, and nowadays people on h2o are debating whether there is any point in the continued existence of that site:.

This is a time of ripening fruit. Many predictions made on this site are seeing their initial fullfilment in the growing success of Silentlambs. There is more to come. The WTBTS has the short end of a "moral" stick and isn't letting go until it gets a good beating. That beating is still in the future. Many thinking people are lurking and watching . They will enter the fray again but right now the focus is on the blistering blows of Slilentlambs and the legal convolutions surrounding the WTBTS. Slowly the pedophile issue has polarized the posters and given them a solid moral position from which to make public many more subtle practices of the WTBTS. As has been said above, this is "History" in the making. Thanks to the internt and sites like this one the WTBTS can no longer operate under the cover of secrecy. This is a time for the wheels of justice to vindicate the suffering caused by a selfstyled, collection of high control megalomaniacs. Let the games begin and bring in as audiance all whose conscience is being liberated from the tyranny of the WTBTS.

Faith? Real or wishful thinking?
by kevin221 ina question for the masses.. is pure faith real, or just a tool the human psyche uses to justify life patterns or actions?
i'm having a hard time understanding how someone could have a secure belief system based 100 % on faith.
let me explain.

A Paduan, if you walk on water what happens is you walk on water.

Faith based on concepts is subject to the limitations of the thought process itself. For example if I believe the concept that Christ walked on water and I put faith in it and I believe I can walk on water and I boast about it, everything is ok until I try to walk on water. My sinking is evidence that my faith , which was based on the thought process , was in fact misplaced. Is there another way to live that has the characteristics of faith but is not based on the thought process, a way that is free of concepts? For example, one sees only that which is immediate and acts spontaneously with out thought. In that circumstance, a simple act like picking an apple becomes an act of "faith".

Madame Blavatsky / Theosophy / Krishnamurti
by Larry ini recently read nikita's story and she mentioned that she briefly came across the religion of theosophy in her travels towards of dub-ism @ a young age (thanks nitkita :) .
her post reminded me of my studies of madame blavatsky, colonel olcott, annie besant, cw leadbeater, etc., the founders of theosophy.
a book i recommend regarding madanme blavatsky is entitled "madame blavatsky's baboon - a history of the mystics, mediums, and misfits who brought spiritualism to america.

Krishnamurti is not talking the same language as the rest of those mentioned here. The distinction is an important one.

I may get a visit from the P.O. :(
by crownboy ini think i may have a potential problem on my hand.
over the last year or so, i've been attempting to go the slow fade route with the jw religion.
for the most part i've succeded, as my significant decrease in jw related activities has been greeted only by brief "pep talks" by my parents at worse.

As you speak to the elders you must realize you are really speaking to your parents. The meeting was arranged because of a discussion between your parents and the elders. Design your response to satisfy your parents and you will make every one happy. If you do it right both the elders and your parents will fall all over themselves trying to be understanding. Be assured they will be discussing you after that meeting.
