I'm curious as to why you don't want to be disfellowshipped? I know you said that your family and friends are JW's. I guess I can understand the family part, but you are being persecuted by these people for something that was entirely innocent. What kind of family ties do you have if they would believe your accusers over you?
Can you really call those others friends? Who needs friends that are only friends when you are in complete agreement with them? Wouldn't a friend, believe in your innocence before your guilt? Wouldn't they at least want to hear YOUR side of the story?
It sounds to me like you would be well rid of all of these people if they would be willing to shun you over a disfellowshipping that happened because of a lie that was told about you and your girlfriend. It's called character assasination.

God's image
by Rex B13 inwe are made in god's image and he is a person, not just some invisible, omnipresent force.
here is some more research for those who love to ask questions yet won't do the digging.. the bible consistently portrays god as a passionate individual, whose inner experiences of love, compassion, grief, delight, joy, peace, anguish, and moral outrage at atrocity dwarf ours in the extreme.
the bible makes no apology for this, but rather exults in the living one, in contrast to the dead and lifeless idols that surrounded its writers.. one scholar put it thus:.

I don't have anything against atheist, except that some of those here seem to think that they can judge and ridicule the faith that others may have. I think it's ludicrous for anyone to judge God and those who believe in Him, and then can't offer any basis for their judgement. It really comes down to 'I don't believe it's true' or 'I don't think it's right' or 'you should read this book'. Of course your judgment of the situation is based on what you think or what you believe or what you read. So is mine. Tell me something I don't know.
If you don't believe in God, or the Bible or anything at all, that's your business. But please don't insult my intelligence by trying to make like what YOU believe or think somehow puts you in a different position. I can't think of anything that would enable you to judge me. We ALL believe what believe because that is what we believe. period. If you can't offer any proof other than your own, or someone elses, OPINION of it, why do you insist that those who DO believe in God offer a defense to you? I don't have any burning desire to 'save' anyone. That's not my job, and I'd never even think for one minute that I could accomplish it.
I'm perfectly happy to live and let live as long as others give me the same consideration. You don't have to answer to me for your thinking, and I sure as hell don't have to answer to you for mine.

Thanks for your concern. Truly. But since I've come to this realization, I've been freed from the corner I was previously in. I've realized that "Proving to be" is the cornerstone of mans existence. We either 'prove to be' God's children, or we don't. If someone 'proves to be' a name that isn't written in the Scrolls of the Lamb, then they 'prove to be' nothing. Of course, He has given men the option of overcoming their lack of faith and getting 'a new name'. Proving to be is what we all do, in some way.

Assuming that there is a God that created everything, I came to the conclusion that there was a time BEFORE creation, when God was alone. OK? If God were alone, what could He possibly think about other than Himself? You with me so far? What could His Word, which the Bible says is the firstborn of creation AND created all things by and for itself, possibly be other than God own Name? What could God possibly speak about OR identify other than Himself? Considering that the Name of God means "I SHALL PROVE TO BE" , understanding that the "I" that shall prove to be is the same as "I AM" it makes perfect sense to me. How could God prove to be if there was nothing else to prove it to? He already knew that He IS. The Word expresses that thought, so since God's Word is True, the Word itself knews that it itself is true. Only by the act of creating could this 'Word' prove the truth that it contained in Itself.
Not only that, but during the creation process, the Bible says that God 'names' everything. Even Adam was given the job of 'naming' things. In Revelation it speaks of 'New Names'. The Bible constantly stresses the importance of 'names' and 'Gods Name' in particular. How can you say that I don't know anything about it? Aren't you making a statement about someone that you don't know anything about by saying that? How are you different than I am? -

Farkel...I realized that you had said that in your reply after I replied...lips (or fingers) moving ahead of the brain I'm afraid.
Julie...What case do you think I'm trying to build? It really doesn't matter to me what you believe, I'm just trying to figure it out. I know that some of you are quite convinced that the Bible is a work of fiction...fine, believe it if you will. I'm just curious what you think the alternative is. What do you think is the source of morality and judgement? What do you think is the answer for mankind if God doesn't exist? It seems to me that if God doesn't exist, then men are the source of their own morality and judgement. Who decides whose morality is superior? Does your belief, or lack of belief mean that someone who doesn't subscribe to the same morals as anyone else is WRONG? And if they're wrong, what is the source of the definition of right and wrong? If no one believed in God, wouldn't they then be free to do whateverthehell they deemed to be right? If society is what makes these determinations, how does one come to the conclusion that society is right? Maybe they're just on an ego trip.

Farkel, thanks for your answer. I would like to point out one fallacy in your argument regarding mens laws though. In THIS country, what you said may be true. There are several other countries where this is not true. What is the answer for those people? Do you think that there is an answer? Do you think that mankind could ever come to a point where everyone is happy? I know this sounds like JW crap, but trust me, I'm in no way in agreement with their methods, I'm just asking.

To understand the difference, someone would have to believe in God and that He has superior precognitive powers and that He is good. If you start from that point, you can realize that God probably knew something about those people. Perhaps He knew that they would someday fly airplanes into buildings and kill thousands of innocent people. Although I would think that back then, He knew that they would kill, pillage, and mislead the children of Abraham, a man whom He promised would be the father of the Promised Seed.
It seems that those who continually dwell on what they perceive to be Gods murderous acts are forgetting an important point. God has been doing everything according to what He, the one who's writing/who wrote this story, has decided must be done in order to come to the Happy Ending. The Ending where EVERYONE gets a chance to live again, if they have the patience to finish the story, trusting that it WILL have a Happy Ending.
Of course, some people would rather say that Gods laws and orders are unjust. They say that the plot is somewhat sinister and miss the whole moral of the story. These same people have no problem with the laws and orders of other MEN though. They seek to find the morality in the thoughts of men, but feel that God shouldn't deserve that same consideration. Makes sense to me...NOT! I guess a critic has to make a living somehow. ??? -

I should have related that the Thought was His Self Definition. What else was there for Him to relate?

(((Hence the problem. A being capable of creating the universe has no reason to do so.)))
When God was alone, in His Own Mind, He came upon a Thought. He said His Name, which translated means:"I AM THAT I SHALL PROVE TO BE" Immediately, His Word came to life, filled with the Spirit of the Meaning of the Thought and set out to do all that the Spirit it contained proposed.
