  If there is no religious connection, what do apostate dubs have to do with it?

  It seems to me that Mark does[ make a religious connection. From Mark 13:9 down to 13:13, he is telling his followers how to expect to be treated. He tells them that they'll be beaten in synogogues, taken to court, have to stand before kings, etc. He then says "furthermore brother will deliver brother, etc. and you will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name."

  I don't see how you can claim that the things stated in Mark are not faith related. I don't see how you can so easily discount the words in John as having no connection to this either.

  I think the hateful behavior is more likely to come from Dubs in good standing with the apostate WTS than ex dubs. For example, why would an agnostic or atheist (which includes many ex dubs) believe they are 'rendering sacred service to God'?

  You Know, According to John 16:2, Jesus said that 'everyone that kills you will imagine he has rendered sacred service to God'.

  It seems to me that those who do the killing will more likely be rabid fundamentalists of the religious persuasion, rather than those who JW's classify as 'apostates'.

  It stands to reason then, that the true 'apostates' are those who believe they know God's will and claim to be His representatives, no?

  i was reading a little bit of the greatest man who ever lived book today and when i began to read chapter 85 ( searching for the lost ), something was crystal clear.

  i read this:.

  " the pharisees and scribes treat common people like dirt under their feet.

  (ok lets add this on)do those who are or were governing body members have a greater amount of responsability than witnesses in general?at what point do we stop being victims and become instigaters?

  If you believe that Ray Franz owes you/us an apology, do you also believe that you owe an apology to everyone that you 'preached' to when you were a witness?

  Wouldn't this same accountability fall on you too, for whatever part you played in spreading the word of lies?

  Some how, me thinks you may protest too much.. Am I wrong?

  Why shouldn't Bill protest his good name being smeared? I think you're wrong.

  I believe he's fighting for the principle of the thing at this point. Besides that, he probably feels that there are many well intentioned people in the org that he doesn't want to lose association with because of the kangaroo court proceedings.

  I'm sure there are many reasons why he would take this course. I would if I were in his shoes.

  If smoking is akin to opening yourself up to demon possession, does that mean that the founders and early adherents to this religion could have been demonized?

  Didn't they used to allow smoking when they came up with this load of of crap that passes for a religion?

  How could anyone trust a religion where the first people who thought it was a good idea/made sense were open for demon possession?
