I don't really know you, but I've read your stuff and I don't think you're a phoney. I do have an opinion about the negativity that you and so many others have been directing at Bill Bowen. You'll have to excuse this because my "enter" key isn't working so I won't be able use paragraphs. You say that you are just like every other person , imperfect as we all are, that forms opinions and impressions about others. I say that the same is true for Bill and Ray. I think it's almost shameful the way that some of you seem to believe that Bill was deliberately, maliciously and for no good reason trying to somehow slander Ray Franz. IMO, it appears that Bill formed an impression about Ray based on conversations that he and others close to him have had. His opinion was as negative as the one that you have formed about Bill. Does that make you right and him wrong? Bill was very recently disfellowshipped and I'm sure the shabby treatment that he's been receiving (even before his dfing) from the JW's has left a very bitter taste in his mouth. Due to that and the fact that there are so many silentlambs that have contacted him with their stories is probably enough to make him leery of anything that even resembles WTthink. Unfortunately, you and so many others choose to put a further burden on this man by publicly busting on him and accusing him of less than honorable motives. No, I don't think you're a phoney, but I think that what you've been doing on this and that other board stinks......big time. That said, congratulations on the new addition to your family.

have we got it wrong ? - lets review this year

un debacle, silent lambs roared, panorama, cnn, dateline, march on brooklyn - all unheard of 12 months ago.. where has it got us, wtbs is still there - un moved and unphased.. have we done any damage - or did we get it wrong?.
i'm no lover of the society - but will anything move these guys?.

I have to agree with Shera's sentiment. I remember back in the 70's there was alot of bad press about the Moonies. They still exist. Scientology is another one that I can think of that gets more negative press than positive. They're still going. That doesn't mean that people shouldn't keep speaking out against the WTS. It will probably help to keep down the number of new recruits. I know that I would never have considered becoming a JW if I'd had access to the info that's available today. Why doesn't my "enter" key work on this page? The same thing happened a month or two ago. ?????

its so insane, and i get so angry that i never questioned it or used my own brain to see the absurdity in it when i was still "in".. what got me started today is the sheer numbers involved.
the dubs believe only they will survive the big a. but not all of them - because those leading double lives etc will be killed as well as the rest of the 6 billion people on earth.

I believe that comment borders on the ridiculous. Some people may have those motivations, but I doubt that the majority do.
When you have kids, the last person that you usually get a chance to focus on is yourself. Going through pregnancy is no walk in the park for either parent, and after their born, you're lucky if you can find spare time for your partner (forget about yourself for awhile). If you think that having and raising kids is easy and something that a normal person would do for selfish reasons, you have a very limited understanding of parenthood.
Oh yea, you have no understanding of it. Just an armchair critic in a sense.
That's ok, since you don't have kids you have plenty of time to educate yourself on the subject. Maybe you can find some info online....

I've never gotten close to anyone here, don't go into chat and usually lurk around, but I feel affection for the people here.
Most of the time I feel that any comment I could add would just be redundant since someone else already said it better than I could.
I know if I couldn't check in for some reason in I'd feel a loss.
