That's easy Yo, even I know that one. They were able to do it for a couple of reasons, the first being that they were inspired. Because of that, they knew that the Law was no longer needed because the Law was the tutor leading to Christ. When Christ died the death of a lawless man, according to the Law, the Law became a tool for lawlessness, used by lawless men to kill a blameless man. The fact that Christ was resurrected proved that the Law was no longer the way leading to God. Christ is.

by Lionel_P_Hartley inmuch evidence has been provided to demonstrate that the wts is a false prophet even though jws will say anything to deny this unpleasant fact.
generally they act and teach explicitly that the gb speaks for god - that it is is god's sole channel of communication - but also claim that the gb is not inspired.
that is a distinction without a difference.. this has caused you know to be on the lookout for jw teachings "channeled" to him by the slave but which are without a bible basis.

i don't know you personally and i don't know what you have gone through in your life, but i can say from what i have seen in here you have a lot of angry,hate, and other issues inside you that needs to be dealt with.

Where in the Greek Scriptures do the apostles teach anything specifically to the people who will live on earth? Is this what was being taught? What teachings in the Greek Scriptures are for the purpose of these people producing things that will help them to realize that reward in full? They aren't even being spoken to or about in the Greek Scriptures, are they?
Would you say that anyone that came to your home teaching something that isn't in the Greek Scriptures wouldn't be bringing the teachings spoken about? Since the Bible is only written for 'the annointed', how can someone teach something that isn't for the annointed, leading to the reward of 'the annointed', and still be teaching what is in the Bible? If it is only for 'the annointed', then anything that applies to someone who isn't the annointed wouldn't be a part of 'this teaching'.
Who pushes ahead of the teachings in the Bible? People who come to your home with teachings that aren't for the annointed, that's who. Who does that? Jehovah's Wittnesses.

God is editor of the WT
by Earnest inin an earlier thread reference was made to a court case in which fred franz stated that jehovah god was editor of the "watch tower".
as this quotation is often used to support the allegation that jws believe the wt is inspired of god i thought it would be of wider interest to provide the relevant court record for general consideration.. the court case itself was in 1940 and was olin moyle against fred franz and others and the wtbts.
just so that you know who is who, hayden covington was attorney for the defendants and walter bruchhausen was attorney for the plaintiff.

Earnest, thanks for providing the whole transcript. I can see more clearly now how misguided Franz and the rest of the governing body are now.
Franz says several times that Jehovah God is the editor, watching over the editing, directing, etc. etc. the publication of the Watchtower magazine. I guess that means that when the crap hits the fan, they say to Him "It was the magazine You edited that perpetrated the lies, not us."

Trotafox, I am by no means a computer guru (not by a loooong shot), but when I was having problems with my puter and called compaq, they said that there are glitches with the 98 second edition program itself. Now I don't know what those problems are, and it ended up that the particular problem I was having at the time had nothing to do with it, but it may have something to do with yours. Perhaps the program glitches won't allow it to upgrade successfully? Just a guess, and not a very educated one at that.

I'd also like to add that looking at the term 'his day' in this light brings a whole new outlook on the implications of 'The Day of Jehovah'. It has made me see it as a day of 'rebirth' rather than a day of 'destruction' as the Watchtower so loves to teach. This is the 'good news' of the Kingdom.

I don't know if I can provide you with scriptural evidence that He doesn't have a problem with it. My particular issue was that they taught that the only mention made of birthdays were when unbelievers celebrated. They outright denied (at that time) that the banquets Job's children had (each one on his own 'day') weren't birthdays. I believe their own Bible refutes that.
Job 1:4 And his sons went and a held a banquet at the house of each one on his own day;.....
Job 3:1-3 It was after this that Job opened his mouth and began to call down evil upon his day. Job now answered and said:"Let the day perish on which I came to be born,....
Ecclesiates 7:1,2 A name is better than good oil, and the day of death than the day of one's being born. Better is it to go to the house of mourning (death) than to go to the banquet house (birth).
I don't know if God has a problem with celebrating birthdays or not. In any event, it's clear to me that the children of faithful Job did and that birthday celebrations (banquets) were something that Solomon was familiar with too.

Flower, it's easy to feel that you are somehow being punished when you realize that you've been believing lies to be true. It's easy to think that it's somehow a problem that *you* are somehow to blame for.
I think you are missing an important point here. He must love you very much because He opened your eyes. He's leading you away from a destructive cult and lifestyle. You have been made aware of the *truth* about the truth. You've been *saved* in a manner of speaking.
Try not to be so hard on yourself. If we had to be perfect to receive love, no one ever would.

Since the Society doesn't know who Jesus was *before* he came in the flesh(teaching that he was the archangel Michael), the fact of the matter is that they *do not* confess him (the Word) as having come in the flesh. They are misrepresenting who it was that *came in the flesh*, thus denying the identity of the one who *did* come in the flesh. False prophets.
