645-646 wolves in sheep’s covering - "can you detect them?
how can you avoid becoming their prey?....to his first-century disciples jesus sounded a warning that applies to us today with even greater force: “look out that you are not misled; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘i am he [anointed],’ and, ‘the due time has approached.’ do not go after them.” (luke 21:8) .

one of the more ridiculous and offensive things the wts has ever taught and that is saying a lot.. i know i saw a link to this article sometime in the last two weeks but i've lost it!
can anyone direct me to this article?.
Firstly wow , how many current Witnesses know about this?
Why were the white people in the pictures all Americans? Is that Britishist or Australianist? What about Canadians , Germans etc ?
They certainly were a prejudiced lot .

there are no real numbers for jws but they are a relatively small group.
compared to the number of catholics at least.. the australian commission gathered more than 5000 cases with over 1000 perpetrators that went completely unreported for the jws.
likewise they did the same for catholics and collected just under 4800 cases with 1880 perpetrators.

Phizzy you are spot on about churches in UK having Safeguarding Programmes and Safeguarding Officers.
Anyone who is in any kind of leadership role is required to do Safeguarding courses. As a member of the PCC , the people who take care of practical matters in the church , l have had to do two Safeguarding courses .
There is a Safeguarding Officer and all church members are encouraged to report anything that they feel is not " right" .

i have been lurking around here for years.
i'm not a witness, but my in-laws are.
my wife grew up in it but was never baptized.
Wow definitely Bah Humbug Blues Brother - Scrooge reincarnated 🤣.
Maybe people with youngsters in the family, children and Grandchildren would be happy to start celebrating Christmas.
It's very isolating for children particularly to have to stay out of Christmas celebrations at school for instance, as you must know .

from my experience within the jw organization, i understood that salvation meant a person accepted the teachings of the wbts without question as the "faithful and discrete slave," thereby placing their trust in them, not jesus christ.
salvation consisted of being found "righteous" by jehovah and resurrected to everlasting life in an earthly paradise.
to obtain this salvation, one needed to obey the organization's teachings, remain a faithful jw, and lead a moral life.
Rattigan do you disagree with Jesus' words ?

Oooh that's not as clear as l thought it would be . I hope that ya'll can read it .
It's one of the daily readings from Word for Today . I feel that it clearly shows the difference between WT teaching about salvation and mainstream teaching .

the english legal system's independent inquiry into child sexual abuse has issued its final report, and its recommendations.
to read the report in full just google iicsa report, if you search on the iicsa site you can find the specific investigation into j.w's.. but this recommendation from the final report is interesting, esp.
the first and last sentences.
So from what l can find Tories wanted an ammendment to the bill to include an enquiry into the grooming gang scandal and Labour voted against that
I can't find anything about Tories voting against the Bill . Where does that come from?

awhile ago i said on here i would like to show how wrong the jehovahs witness organisation is , in that they will not accept the testimony of a victim of sexual crime where the victim has no other witnesses to the crime.
i faced this with helping my ex wife for about 15 years in exposing her father , an elder, to the jw org.
his raping of her over years and they believed him.. so therefore the perpetrator knowing of the organisations stance can easily deny and therefore be free to pretend to serve as an innocent jw still mixing with the congregation ,and also i have witnessed an accused perpetrator of child molestation witnessing at my next door neighbors house in field service with a child of another family even though the elders knew of the accusations against him.
I'm British and l can categorically say that Britain for one has not become a hellhole 3rd world country .
Have you been here recently? Where do you get this information from ?
Back to the topic. I'm ruddy positive that the two witness rule doesn't and shouldn't apply to this situation. Who on earth is going to sexually assault or rape a child in front of someone else who isn't a fellow paedophile.
DNA and other evidence obviously helps but very often children need to work up the courage to tell someone about abuse. It maybe that an abused child waits until they are an adult to report an abuser . By then any physical evidence will be gone .
