Why do they make everything so ruddy complicated? It really isn't.

when the gb brought a formal end to all the type/antitypes in so many ways it could be said that they brought the religion to an end.
the other sheep/anointed teaching that leads to a two class religion was originally based on two antitypes--the jehu/jehonadab relationship and something about the cities of refuge.
in that 2014 annual meeting talk david splane even specifically stated that the cities of refuge has no antitype.
this website is an invaluable source of knowledge for me in my deconstruction journey as i gradually fade away from the org.
i absolutely love it here.. however, i haven't been very well as of late.
and i make an effort to bring a sad little message.
is the sunday special talk prior to the memorial just an introduction of a new outline for the sunday public talks?.
is it an attempt to get the faders back to the meetings?
they present in a way like some new light is going to be presented at the special talk..

for decades, jehovah’s witnesses have been banging on about babylon the great—the so-called world empire of false religion—being on the brink of collapse.
any day now, they assured us, churches would empty out, priests would be left twiddling their thumbs, and humanity would collectively bin organised religion.
the message they have been pushing for 150 years or so is "the end is near !"..
in the educated, civilised world, people think " yea ?
maybe because of economic meltdown exacerbated by climate change, but not from some intervention by a non-existent god".. "would you like a free bible study ?

How does being a ceramics engineer ( I'm not even sure what that is ) give you incite into how scientifically accurate the Bible is ?
I'm guessing that the lady who talked about churches preaching materialism is American.
Don't these special talks include at least something from the Bible ?

i’m still an elder and i consider myself jw light.
as my fellow elders are.
we don’t throw our weight around like elders used to in the past, it’s all very easy going these days.
Mikejw l am a Christian so believe that God is responsible for the world coming into being but have no problem with evolution. It doesn't have to be one or the other .
Anonymous Mous l agree that certainly most JWs and possibly many atheists have no idea how , as you say " really " religions operate .
Cults like the JWs push people to drink or suicide , they split families and cause children to have miserable childhoods .

i have worked for over 25 years now in a day habilitation program for persons with physical and mental diabilities.
in recent years this has often involved assisting them in doing community volunteer work, as in our state, persons receiving services are required to have a 'job' of some sort.
as a result, we have worked in catholic and salvation army food pantries, animal shelters, libraries, a nature center, a vietnam war veterans museum and delivered meals on wheels.
