They usually load these types of boats up with too much weight.
My heart breaks for the families. They probably have no other choice but to board those boats. I know if I was a traveler, I would not get on it, I would find other transportation.

my elderly mother is sick and she gets visitors from her congregation.

Actually, they cannot count the time while visiting the sick. But it's a nice break when it's cold or hot. I only continued to count my time if an an unbaptized publisher was with us. Sisters who were shut-ins really did appreciate the visits and hearing about what was going on in service and especially if you brought a bible study over

Elders sting operation on myspace
by troubled mind ina certain young person told me last night a jw friend of his from n.y. received an elder visit .
the suspect was told that the elders had been lurking about on myspace and had caught several young ones with accounts there .
they told this person's account was benign yet was counseled it was bad association to be on myspace.

Sad news from Maui
by Makena1 inwe went to our favorite beach, met up with some of our local friends.
we don't have much in the way of details - but heard some devasting news that ari (well known to seattle area exjw's and i am sure by many on the board) killed himself sometime over last weekend.
he was so excited about moving to maui, and starting a new life here.

Puternut's real name was Ary. And since he wasn't hiding his name was Ary Spoelstra. He really was such a kind, thoughtful man. Sadly, his daughters will feel so guilty that they listened to their mother and the elders in their hall. Sadly, the JW's will not take responsiblity for the shunning but will claim this was all Ary's fault, that he was unhappy since he left Jehovah.
Ary never left God. He wasn't sure how the whole kitten kaboodle worked out, but he did believe in God and he knew that the secrecy of the Organization was wrong. I know that he encouraged me to pray and he felt that God would hear my prayers.

Last I heard from him was in December. He said he had had problems seeing and would probably not be able to be a jewelry designer much longer though he had found work with someone else. He also expressed that his daughters refused his letters, no answers to his phone calls or messages.
I felt bad for him that in the time he went to Hawaii, one year, that he and Octavia had broken up again, he had had to move, change jobs again and was now on to a new relationship. I don't think the transitions were easy on him ......... especially after being in JW's for all his life, married for over 20 years and having been successful in his business and area for so long .........
This is just too sad.
