  i'm sure everone is looking forward to the feild ministry today!!!

  all the young kids and teenagers just cant't wait to see their school chums in the door to door activity.

  my guess it will be very little door to door today, for the brave ones that go out.

  put the price up a bit if u have to...

  cash in on the real estate!!!! how much money will it free up if they sold everything in brooklyn and retired to paterson?

  this stuff had a big promotion in oz a few years ago...

  special marketing booths in all the shopping centres extolling the value of emu oil.

  now the stuff is in the rmainder shops - marked down to about 20% of the original price.

  but my partner loves to ask mormons (who are targeting the chns community where we live) ---

  there have been a few posts here over the past few days, from alan f, and others, on the lack of leadership in the wts.

  i hadn't really thought about that too deeply, but i think this is a significant point.

  we are at a genuine turning point in wts history, and my take on it is that it will do nothing to advance the organization.. the society is at this point essentially a reactionary organization.

  What - if any - Religon are you now practicing?

  i know this seems like a dumb subject.. but i often wonder if many of us still believe and feel the need to worship - and not the borg either .

  so here is a poll.... what religious orginization - if any - are you affiliated ( this does not mean you had to join it)?.

  or - do you feel that everything is wrong due to the borg..and will you ever consider going to an organized religon again??.

  guess the answer is -- NONE!!

  but, sometimes i like to go a chns buddhist or chns taoist temple, and feel connected to the universe.

  but, i could never actually be a buddhist. gotta say tho, the spiritual devotion i saw in thailand, would leave the average jw for dead..

  aaah! but the jw got the TRUTH, so they must be more spiritual.

  Any one here Know much about homeopathic med's?

  hey i am just wondering again - ( i know i might just get lost ..but????).

  has any one here done any research or ever practiced homeopathic medicine??.

  i am looking into it and would lve any input on it..

  in the hands of a skilled practioner, homeopathy can be excellent.

  in the hands of an unskilled practioner, it can make you worse.

  Hahnemman (the founder of the system) said he would rather swallow razorblades than take the wrong medicine.

  i suggest that you should not treat it as harmless.

  and i suggest that you doan treat yourself -- i did, with some bad results.

  btw.- a swiss practioner, well - he used homeopathy as well as other remedies, by name of vogel (australians know him through vogels bread) was once a jw. he wrote a book that lots of brothers used to own called "Nature Doctor".

  mostly fairly sensible stuff, tho one thing, at least, was dangerous. i wote him about it, but he did not reply to my letter... But the next edition of his book changed the presentation of that treatment.

  he claimed (when i met him) that he had treated people in NY bethel.

  once stayed in tahiti with my former sister-in-law. she said he was always excited about the plants he passed, and knew a lot about them.

  he died ( i believe) disfellowshipped.

  among the latest instructions to the rank and file witnesses is this one:.

  "following bible principles, we will avoid trying to live (or demand others to live) by an extensive and rigid set of dos and don'ts that go beyond the teachings of the bible.

  " (the watchtower - issue of april 15,2002, page 22, para 15).

  they are saying it again?

  i can remember in the dim past (i think it may have been about mid-60's, there was a series of WT's and study articles that discussed thinking in terms of the principles and not LAWS..

  it suggested that much of life was 'gray' rather than 'black & white'...

  looking back, i do not think that r & f understood it, (well? how much study material is actually understood anyway?)...& i doan think that the r & f wqnted to have to think about the principle.

  the thinking in principle campaign faailed!

  when a WT finally announced the end of that period ( well, not in so many words, but more likely emphasising the role of LAW in the lives of jws) a sister who was a really good friend, and quite capable of thinking for herself, told me - "i'm so glad that's over, and we are going back to black & white things (right and wrong) - it was so difficult to have to think things out."

  so really, i think that maybe that's the organisation that many want a controlling one. that's why they stay!

  so it's not new light ozzie, just another twist and turn!!!!!!!

  on the surface it is calm, but underneath--different story.

  a medical doctor who came into the truth in the west of sydney, made exactly that comment... on the surface calm, but he was surprised how many mentally and emotionally disturbed people there were in the congs.

  eventually, he had to leave sydney, becasue of people chasing him for consultations.

  of course, to publically express your disturbance or upset condition, leaves you open to a charge of spiritual sicknes. so, at all costs, the r & f must appear normal in the cong.

  so sad!
