  well a little shock here kids.. on monday, i was talking to my daughter about her (unusual) poor performance in school, in one particular class.

  (straight a kid) now i know she doesn't like this teacher's style, so i try to encourage her to learn to deal with it--i mean, we don't all like each other's style but we live in the same world.

  blah blah blah.. anyhow, she told me she was 'having problems focusing.

  Aw! what a sweet story! You sound like a great parent.

  My brother had eye troubles at school and unfortunately it was only diagnosed late, so he was way behind! Happily he did more study later in life and now has letters after his name (Im proud of him!)

  Do U Feel JWs Look Down on U 4 Leaving? Help.

  one of the things many of us faced as we left the wts was the loss of respect from witnesses that we may have really liked.

  some may point to us as those who have lost jehovah's spirit and blessing in their life, and are suffering the consequences.

  these can be hard issues to face.. yesterday i was discussing these ideas with a psychologist friend, and later with my wife.

  I really like your analogy. It hurts when they look down on you and say that you are "weak". In actuality, we are the strong ones, because despite risk of losing people in our lives we still stood up for what is right. We can take their name-calling because we can see the bigger picture.

  Forgive the Governing Body

  i dont hate the governing body, nor the president.. not even rutherford.. after reading all that old dub material i came to believe all those old croakers running the org are just pathetic, brainwashed old men, trapped in their 60 years of organizational experience.. i feel sorry for the old fossils.. imagine all the life experience theyve missed out on.. imagine the disaapointment when they finally go up the tunnel of light into death and find out theyve been slaves to an entity that eats souls.. they just dont know any better.. i pity them.

  not hate them.. compassionate and forgiving aint i?.

  I wasnt saying the rank and file JWs should be locked away! I was saying the leaders - the GB - should be. They bear ultimate responsibility for promoting lies, for putting themselves in the position of God, for misleading millions. Just cos we believed it doesnt mean we are ultimately responsible...although I do still feel guilty for encouraging others to join.

  I dont hate the individuals as such, but I do think that they should answer for their wrongs. Personally, if I discovered that something I did lead to thousands dying, then in the interests of justice I would prefer to be locked away or even killed for what I did. JWs are a recognised world religion and so are protected - but just imagine if someone set up a church in your town and told the followers that if they didnt refuse to eat then God would condemn them...then one of them dies of starvation...Im sure people would intervene to stop this practice continuing.

  Thanks for asking this question ItsJustMe, I was interested in knowing former elders views.

  I hate the memory of being the subject of a JC. It was downright humiliating and now Im so angry about it. I was 19 years old, engaged to a man I truly loved, and we had 'protected' sex once. I was subjected to talking to 3 old men about every little detail of the event, (which I now realise wasnt sex at all! hardly any penetration, then we stopped because of guilt, previously I was a virgin so didnt know what sex was anyway). They tried to DF my fiance, who was absolutely crushed inside and more repentant than me! I persuaded him to appeal and he did, then we were both subjected to another appeal meeting, in which they didnt DF him and blamed HIM for not communicating properly about his repentance.

  I dont want to see any of them ever again.

  Hi,

  I dont hate them, but I do think that they should be locked away and we should throw away the key. People need to take responsibility for their actions!! We can just say "oh well, they believed in what they were doing". Im sure every evil murdering psycho out there really thinks hes doing a good job!

  Referring to "Forgive the Governing Body" - I seem to remember them telling us that we dont need to forgive unless there is repentance. They are not repentant, they are continuing in their badness, so I think let them be judged according to their own unbending judgement!

  Good Advice Abaddon,

  Last year I lost about 25lbs. I went really skinny. Then this year I gained the weight back and Im tempted to lose it again.

  I think the best thing to do is eat regularly and healthily. Make yourself have at least one good meal a day.
