WTS says 215 years - Bible says 430 - Which?
by Amazing in215 years or 430 years?
the july 15th wt study some have been talking about (not sure of which issue of the wt is involved) was quoted as saying this, "when the israelites headed for freedom after spending 215 years in egypt, much of that time in slavery, a vast mixed company also went up with them.
(exodus 12:38) ".

They are throwing in some obvious errors to shore up the O.G.B.'s (Original Ganster Body) "dyslexia defense".
...."brothers, in these end times, stress and human imperfection have left 1/3 of the worlds population with clinically diagnosible illnesses such as ADD, and dyslexia. Should it be any less so for the Gangster Body of Jehovahs people? These dementia ridden ancient worthies have given, collectively, hundreds of thousands* of years in humble service to Christ brothers, all that time bearing the enormous stress load that comes with making all of, and more than all of the hard decisions, the life and death decisions, both spiritual and physical, for those whom God has called.
The question is before you, are YOU going to be stumbled from Christ love, simply over (clinically diagnosable) stress and illness related errors such as the difference between 430 and 215 years? These hardworking glorious ones, even in their "condition", still got it 50% right! Can any of the worlds fancy pants theologins claim to do better?"
*Christlike hyperbole

So, just so I have this right....If some religious organization mis-quoted a respected authority in order to convince people as to the appropriateness of some innocent-children's-lives-taking doctrine, when in fact said authorities opinion on the matter was 180 degrees opposite this life-taking doctrine,.....that would be a really big deal?
Do I have that right?

Why? I have to ask...
by AGuest inmay you all have peace!.
why is it that when someone knocked on your door and said, "hey, we have the 'truth', and some of us are 'anointed'" and yet, could not prove that truth... nor even explain that anointing... you believed?.
yet, when someone who makes that claim has absolutely no problem explaining it to you and telling you of it... blow by blow... you do not believe?.

Nope, Shelby. Nice try, but you don't find any of mine, Naeblis' , or TMS' attitudes anywhere near a Kingdom Hall.
The sad thing is, a person like you could really hurt someone.

How do the anointed know they are?
by jayhawk1 ini have a question that no elder has given me a good explanation on.
how do the anointed jehovah's witnesses become that way.
i heard that somehow their spirit is born along with the holy spirit.

finalcall said,
As to hearing the voice, when he speaks to me it is from within, (Gen 24:12-21,42-45 focusing on verse 45 "before I was finished speaking in my heart") at first with my same voice, speaking the exact way I would. This takes faith not to go crazy thinking that you are talking to yourself. As time goes by and you began to be trained and learn how to listen, the voice becomes more distinct and does not resemble yours to the exact degree it used to. And you learn to identify it.
Laughing Out freaking Loud!!
Your faith has made you sick. Now go your way and spin no more.

I am very diverse, lingually, actually.
Exactly. And that is why you are able to carry off this particularly irritating* persona day in/day out on this board.
Why not get help to get over yourself? You are not the first person to imagine the voice in their head is God. Your arrogance is overwhelming, and you are a slave to no one but your own mind.
*and just what does that say about God?

SAW A PEDOPHILE TODAY
by TR intoday, while in a hardware store, i saw a guy that i know was a pedophile when i was a kid.
he was in a check out stand next to mine when i saw him.
i recognized him immediately, even after 30 years.

Friday, did YOU just call me stupid? Did YOU just call me a jerk?
LOL
Perhaps respect no, but sympathy yes? After all, pedophiles don't really have any "respect" for themselves.
And don't call me foul mouthed, you piece of shit. You deserve the type of escalated language that comes with a passionate distaste for evil.

Dedication AND Baptism?
by SixofNine ini posted this here a long time ago .
didn't get much reply, but then again, there weren't many of us posting at the time.. dedication and baptism.
in the org., the two are inextricably linked.

hmmmmmmmm?????
I don't guess I have ever had any trouble differentiating the two, except to the extent that, as I said in my first post, they are presented by the WTS as part and parcel of the same thing; ie. "dedicationandbaptism". Or did my childish mind just invent that while growing up a witness? What was your perception?
The idea that at one point, "dedication" was not so connected to baptism, instead "concecrated" was, makes some sense to me. But of course, those are two completly seperate concepts. The simple act of baptism could, in effect, cause someone to be a "concecrated one". Dedication of course, will make it all more personal, and therefore is a very "common sense" doctrine, I just can't see where it has any real biblical support, or even origin, for that matter.
When this question hit me a few months ago, I went looking for scriptural support. I didn't find any. Have I missed something?
ps. Max, you continue making dents, folding, spindling and mutilating, and I will REALLY owe you one. And it won't be in the common, "thanks buddy" sense of the term, either. (especially that "spindling" part, I'm particularly fond of the idea of the pupateers being "spindled" )

but your friend TR can stoop to the lowest level and I have yet to witness you saying anything to him about any of his misdemeanors.
What fucked up version of reality do you live in where killing (or even more trivially, fantasizing about killing) a pedophile is "stooping to the lowest level"? Perhaps you sympathise with the pedophiles who would "choose life" for themselves, but deny and destroy any semblance of a normal happy life for the children whose soul they do not mind killing?

WTBS CORP/ CONTROLLED BY NON JWS!!??
by JUSTAMOM injust pondering over a few things i have been reading.. 1.annual corporate meeting oct 6, 2001. with all the weird changes in the last year...red light alert!.
2. since it was the 337 voting members who had the biggest say so as to the changes last year in removing the gb...... (and they are non jws)....what else will they or have they done?.
the only reason they don't send the gb home, and it's not because they care about their elderly, is the fact without them as puppets up there, most jws might wake up and smell the kool-aid!.

Your "lord' misled you ...oh sorry you changed that..you misinterpretted his words to you ...one would think the almighty would be more eloquent.
Isn't that just the way? I mean, aren't we all here, in this forum, because of precisely that problem, as manifested thru the ages?
