Matty-
So you never had the pleasure of receiving a call about an hour before the meeting telling you that it has been cancelled? In my congregation, the meetings get cancelled about three times each winter.
.
unless you are famous for something how long are you really remembered?.
maybe you are remembered at most by your grandchildren, but then your presence in the universe is gone.. so, really, what difference does it make whether you die in your 40's or your 70's, your memory simply lingers another 30 years at most.
Joel-
People are like farts. You definitely know when someone "cut the cheese". But after the bad smell disappears you forget all about it...maybe 30 minutes at most.
Joel, at least you smell better than a pass-gas. So, don't be too depressed.

Snow is very beautiful. The trees look pretty when they are crowned with snow. Kids make snowmen. Grown-ups fall backwards to the ground and make snow angels. But...
My favorite thing about snow is that it cancels the JW meetings!
Let it snow!!!

james coluburn died of a heart attack on monday at the age of 74. i wasn't a big fan of his but i'm sure he was a good actor.
i know it wasn't one of his greatest roles but i did like his character in the movie 'snow dogs'.
merlin santana.
Hey, freddi.
Do you mean a topic like, " what is righteous sex?"
Write back when you find your mommy.
LOL!
.
did it bother you that you had to make comments that reflected their way of thinking all the time.
wouldn't you have loved to say something completely different from what they expected to hear, when making a comment.
JH...
One thing that got (gets) on my nerves are the phrases they use like, "Do we not agree?" and "Are we not thankful?", etc., etc.
I feel like raising my hand and saying, "No. I do NOT agree that...."

You'd probably go out, get in your car and drive to Disneyland, asking, "Where's my mommy? Where's my mommy?"
Did I guess right?
i live in the philadelphia, pa area.
as a young boy in the early 1980's, 'the benny hill show' used to come on a uhf channel (locally).
i used to laugh at and enjoy the show very much (i also like another bbc comedy show called 'dave allen at-large').
mouthy-
Wow! I didn't realize Benny Hill was unhappy. All I know is that he made a lot of unhappy people happy again.
Remember the poor, old, little man that he used to slap around? LOL!

Merlin Santana. Best known as 'Romeo' on the Steve Harvey Show. He was shot to death while sitting in the passenger seat of a parked car on November 16, 2002 in Los Angeles. Authorities have a 15-year-old girl in custody. The Los Angeles Times reports authorities believe the teenage girl was the driver of the car used in the shooting -- and not the one who pulled the trigger. Santana and the kid who played 'Bullethead' were funny on the show. They would crack me up.
Queen Latifah was driving in North Hollywood when she was stopped about 3:15 a.m. for making an unsafe lane change. They found that she was under the influence. It was a routine arrest. The 32-year-old artist, who was driving a 2003 Cadillac Escalade, presented a valid New Jersey driver's license bearing her given name, Dana Owens, and then failed a sobriety test. She was booked and released on $2,500 bail, authorities said. A Dec. 11 court appearance was scheduled.

Say what? You guys at Bethel used to watch Benny Hill??? LOL! Man, I wasn't even allowed to watch 'Three's Company' let alone Benny Hill (Just because I wasn't allowed didn't mean I didn't sneak up late and watch it...LOL!).
By the way, JT, here are a couple of more British shows you should try to check out: 'Keeping Up Appearances', which DOES air on BBC and usually a PBS station. AND...
'Father Ted', which doesn't air in America that I know of. But, badwillie owns some DVDs of Father Ted and that show is HILARIOUS!!!
