i am a teacher and coordinator in brazil.
the school (it's for adults) i work for requires that our students donate food (rice, beens, pasta) or clothes or toys every month.
then, at the beginning of the next month, we take all of the donated goods and deliver them to places that exist on receiving donated items.. two months ago, we delivered the items to a home that cares for kids with cancer.

Two months ago, we delivered the items to a home that cares for kids with cancer. It is run by the Catholic church.
Last month, we delivered the items to a home set up to help get people off the streets. This place is also run by the Catholic church. While delivering the items along with one of our students, the director invited us to sit down and explained to us how the program works. hey even had three guys share their experiences from living in the streets to helping others turn their lives around.
These places have made me think about how JWs do ZERO for the community, specifically for any who aren't part of the JW circle. They have no programs set up at all. But why?
I certainly don't believe in a Christian god, but it's okay if you do. I do care about people, though. Taken from JWdotOrg:
While on earth, Jesus fed the hungry, healed the sick, and restored life to the dead! (Matthew 15:29-38; John 11:38-44) As the future Ruler of God’s Kingdom, Jesus provided a beautiful preview of what that Kingdom will do for its subjects.
As we have learned, Jesus showed what a wonderful king he will be by feeding the hungry, healing the sick, and even raising the dead to life!
Thus the JW mindset. They ignore the part how Jesus fed the hungry and focus mainly on healing the sick and resurrecting the dead and tie it in to a PREVIEW of the FUTURE. Nothing is about the "now" except the so-called preaching work.
JWs are not motivated by what they see around them on a daily basis (homelessness, people with cancer, starvation) because that's something only God can resolve. It's more important for them to tell them how God will one day feed and clothe them.
Case in point, my cousin sexually abused my older brother who is now a devout JW. After I left the JWs, I suggested to my brother that he ought to see a therapist to help him deal with any hurt feelings or internal/mental pain). He told me it isn't necessary and that everything will be resolved in the New System. I said to him that that is well and good if that's what you believe, but in the meantime until the New System arrives, there's no harm in getting some help TODAY. His response was merely dismissive silence.
And that, my friends, sums it all up (in my opinion). The JW belief system is all about chasing a future pipe dream while ignoring the everyday issues encountered. If Jesus existed and he fed the hungry, why is it only about what he WILL be instead of what he WAS?
In the end, helping others feels good. I hope that anyone who has read this (JWs or otherwise) does his or her part to help others. Seeing those kids smiling when the donations arrived was a game changer for me.
Have a great day!
matthew 26:18 ("go into the city to so-and-so..."-nwt) and ruth 4:1 ("at that boʹaz said: 'come here and sit down, so-and-so.
' "-nwt) used to annoy me.
i didn't really understand it.

So, there you have it. Hopefully we can all sleep better at night now. By the way, maybe they can start using other expressions like whatchamacallit or what's his name.
i have two honest questions for everyone here.
i understand that most here want retribution from the courts against watchtower for child abuse allegations.
but let us take away the instances where someone was accused of child abuse and then later put back into a position of authority, such as an elder or an ms. let us just take the cases where a regular publisher or even an appointed person, with no previous accusation of child abuse has come up against that person.
Honestly,
I really doubt much about you is honest.
even if Watchtower come out tomorrow and apologize for this and say that they will no longer practice the 2 witness rule
That would be amazing!
inform all members of every person ever accused of sexual assaultWhat a wonderful thing if it could happen!
a lot of people on here wouldn't be happy unless Watchtower is ended.
This is true, and rightly so. How many family relationships have ended because of the corrupt corporation? How many lives have ended because of the ever changing blood policy? How many careers ended for the hope of a pipe dream? Obviously people want to see the Watchtower Society JW . Org meet its demise.
So you have to ask yourself are you more concerned with if Watchtower is in existence or not or the protection of children.
That's it? After all this jibber jabber you have posted on here, and no doubt have counted field service time, you break it down to a choice between existence of JW . Org vs. Protection of children? You really are a dunce! So, please...hopefully now you realize that your ridiculousness has been exposed. Please go away. Or, at least stick around and try to have an open mind and stop being a hand puppet and learn to think and speak for yourself.
what happened to these guys.
i remember chatting and sparring with these guys years ago.
i read on here that onacruise passed away (craig) that was a shame he was a good man, and his ex wife kate.
Fred Hall had a pic of Darth Maul. He was entertaing but one day he went too far. I think Simon gave him the boot. Also, I used to enjoy posts by Lisa (LDH).

The OP is a tool. He thinks that if the law of consent is 14 then it's not abuse. Consent requires all participants to, you know, consent.
The OP is counting his FS time. Must be trying to advance from carrying mics to becoming sound servant.
funny but for whatever reason, i can't stop singing walking in integrity from the old songbook!
it's in my head and in my opinion it was one of the few songs i really liked..
My favorite Kingdom song?
The one that concluded any given meeting.
after i left the jws, i began to live a normal and mentally healthy life (i'm still working on living a physically healthy one) .

We had phone witnessing in my part of the U.S. in the 90s and 00s.
I don't recall children making calls.

It felt good to have the Christmas spirit again (no, I'm not a Christian). I had celebrated it up to the age of 7 in a non-religious household so it always was about presents and fun and family and never about Jesus for me.
So, it felt good to begin a new tradition with my own family.
And next month begins the tradition of celebrating his 1st birthday. He's kinda lucky because his dad is going to go overboard, me thinks, for missing out on so many of my own birthdays.
