Who makes the moves???

i am just curious as to who initiates sex in your relationships... is it the male or the female most of the time... or is it about an equal amount???

and is it a different view between those involved???

so how do each individuals do it, to show the other that they want it???

who cares who initiates as long as the other reciprocates and it happens... right?

How would you feel if he never said you were pretty, never commented how nice you looked in a new dress, never said he loved you? He can say, "Oh, you know I do, do I have to say it?" It just isn't the same, and a part of you wonders if he really does love you.

Just as verbal expressions of love are needed by a woman to feel loved, sexual expressions are needed by a man to feel loved by his woman. If you never or rarely initiate sex, how does he really know you find him desirable? Especially after two years! Oh, he can talk you into it, you have sexual needs, but do you really want him? You can say, "Oh, he knows I do, do I have to say it [by initiating sex]?" It just isn't the same, and a part of him wonders if you really do love and desire him.

It is the most flattering thing when a man's mate finds him so desirable that she cannot wait for him to initiate, but becomes the sexual aggressor and must have him now rather than later.

This post is from Windrider and I.

We discussed it and decided that we initiate sex about equally; if anything, we both agree that Skeptic initiates slightly more often.

We are both very affectionate and yet neither is pressured in any way to go all the way; we stop where we want. Very often, we tease each other all day, and then at night when all children are asleep, we eagerly tear each other's clothes off and finally give into all the pent up passion. Ahhhh, sweet release...

WTS is going down: Illusion or Reality?

hi folks,.

it appears that the tides are turning upon the wts.

judging by recent child abuse cases, un scandal and blood doctrine change that the wts is being exposed and that the rest of the world is taking note.

Those who think the WTBS will end anytime soon, are dreaming, IMHO.

The WTBS is at heart a corporation and like all corporations, will do what it needs to do to survive and prosper. Its recent financial woes are similar to those experienced by many companies in these economical times.

The recent organization of its corporations should severely limit its liability if it loses major lawsuits. The publicity of the lawsuits would probably do more financial damage.

The WTBS has slowly been mainstreaming. It think it will still maintain more control of its member than most mainstream churches.

In recent years, we have seen mainstreaming. Easying up on what components of blood can be used, not having to be nazi-like in checking what foods contain blood, allowing JWs to attend funerals and weddings in other churches, allowing sisters to attend Christmas dinners, allowing higher education, allowing retirement plans, not fixing a specific time period that the end will come in, etc. Expansion is mainly from those raised as JWs and some gather from informal witnessing. Just like mainstream churches.

The mainstreaming will be slow, and will be driven by WTBS self-interest, not out of concern for R&F JWs. They have tapped the poorer and less educated population to the max. To expand, they will have to appeal to the middle and upper-middle class, and that will mean discarding teachings that are plainly absurd, not to mention that lower a person's quality of life. In other words, they will have to mainstream.

I had these thoughts independently of Amazing, and agree with him wholeheartedly. I hope his figure of 50 years is accurate; I suspect it is low. I do agree that major changes will happen in 50 years.

The WTBS knows that it must change slowly, but it can change doctrines without harm. "New Light" conveniently seems to favor whatever the WTBS needs at the moment. The Bible can be made to say anything.

Dealing with Shunners

it was kind of fun yesterday when i was in line at the local coffee house.

a "sister" came up and stood in line right next to me.

now, my ex is df'd and i am probably "bad association", but technically they should not shun me because i never got dunked.

I love this, I truly do. I am fortunate, no JW shuns me except my brother. Here is how my brother is handled, but first, the family history.

My nephew DAed himself. He was raised as a Dub, and cooperates fully with the shunning policy. As you know, family events in a mixed Dub/non-Dub family are few and far between. So, when JWs are allowed to attend a family event, the non-JW family is quite eager to have them.

The problem is inviting the DAed nephew to such events. If he attends, the JWs won't. (Even as a JW, I thought this was stupid, we could just attend and not talk to him...he never made trouble for JWs...I lived too far away for these events.) Anyway, to avoid trouble, he would always stay away. The non-JWs always felt bad, as they wanted his company.

When I left the JWs, at the next family event I was to attend (my mother's funeral), I asked my worldly relatively want they wanted me to do. They told me they were so sickof JWs ruining family events. We decided that I should attend and if the JWs don't like it, they can stay away. They told me they wanted the JWs to have to stay away and have the consequences of the shunning, not me or my nephew.

So, I attended the funeral, and all the JWs showed up expected my brother. He had "car trouble" and could not attend. The rest of the JWs are a little cold, but they do not shun me. My JW niece is just as friendly as ever. Religion, of course, is a topic that cannot be discussed.

I Think Evolution Is True. Internet Is A Prod...

i'm a christian that has struggled with the theory of evolution.. at this point in my search i feel evolution is true.. there are many variations of the threory, i currently beleive god caused it, in his infinite wisdom,.. and that the bible really does not teach against it,.. but many who have their own interpitation of the bible do.. i have seen many fine comments by members(jan, alan, and abaddon) of this discussion board that have given me reason to beleive evolution is the way god created life we see today.

I think it is perfectly reasonable for people who believe in God to believe that God used evolution to make man.

I don't see where a metaphorical interpretation of Genesis contradicts evolution. One poster here believes that Gensis actually supports evolution.

Honest Research: Why?

i am trying to gather info.

on why people leave the wt.. i have read many personal stories but thought it would be easier to just post the question:.

if you can remember, what was the very first thing.

I figured out that the Bible is just a book written by men and nothing special. Then I figured out that God probably did not exist and if He did, He is not worthy of my worship.

So it made no sense to stay as an active Witness. At that time, I did not have major problems with the WTBS, though there was a lot of little things I wondered about.

I lost all respect for the WTBS when the 1914 generation change was adopted, because I knew many lives were needlessly wasted by that doctrine. At that time, I was reading the Proclaimers book cover-to-cover and saw that the Witnesses were a bunch of loonies.

Tips on Building An Assembly Hall

i won't go into all the advice that could be given on actual.

construction - just a few thoughts on how to scam the flock.

to get things moving.. first, "lowball" the estimates of what construction will cost.. honesty is irrelevant here - it doesn't matter what the final.

Sometimes the Assembly Halls do come in on budget. I was not in the "In" group, but the announcements made said that the Hull (Alymer?),Quebec, Canada Assembly Hall came in at the budgetted amount.

And it had two unexpected expenses:
1) $900,000 to hire a worldly architect...the city "hinted" that they required it; it is a beautiful hall, with curved walls everywhere.
2) They had to buy a house at an outrageous price to remove opposition to a permit...I didn't know Jehovah could be blackmailed, but that is exactly what the seller did.

New a good term instead of born-again

i have been associated with many religious groups over the years, mainly the catholics, jehovah's witnesses, and various evangelical born-again groups.. i often use the term born-again on this forum.

i normally mean born-again in reference to evangelical born-again groups, "fundies", etc.. a couple of posters here have told me that they find the way i used the term born-again offensive.

they rightly tell me that most christians believe that they are born-again...hence, my comments offend them.. so, folks, can we come up with a more accurate term?

Witness Denial, or Acceptance of 'Truth'

i was talking to an elder's son, giving him the reasons for leaving the 'truth'......the un thing, molestation stuff, shunning, new light, nazi discrepencies, etc.

he agreed with me on almost all points.

we spoke for almost two hours, over a couple of beers.

The only prob with your analogy is that taxes are compulsory. Being a JW is not.

I admit my analogy is not completely solid. However, you said that you were talking to an elder's son; I assume that your friend is a baptised Witness.

So, your friend remaining a Witness is compulsory to an extent. While he will not be jailed for leaving, he will be mostly likely be shunned by his friends and family. So it is not like he can decide these things are wrong and drop out. Even fading away does not always work.

Just as at a certain point each citizen of a country is responsible for what their military is doing (all the citizens could rebel and overthrow the govt.), at a certain point each JW is responsible for what the organization does (they could all leave at once and the organization would go out of business).

But we both know that all the citizens of a country are not going to rebel and individuals that do will just be punished. We both know that all JWs are not going to leave, and individuals that do will just be punished. Just as it would be wrong to say an R&F citizen shares responsibility for what his country does, so it is wrong to say an R&F JW is responsible for the wrongs of the organization.

And, yes, like you, I have taken no offense and just like a good debate.
