One likely reason is the IRS is going to smarten up one day and revoke the non profit status of the WTBTS. That means that all capital gains from real estate sales become subject to state and federal taxes. The WTBTS knows this so it must make its big profits before the ax falls.

In my grand total of three months of field disservice in 1973, nothing was free with respect to literature. The WTBTS prices for end consumers were in general 125% of the prices charged to the hapless JW regular publishers at the literature desk.
A magazine cost a JW US$0.04 each and was resold for US$0.05. A "Truth" book cost US$0.40 and was sold for US$0.50. A hardback green NWT cost US$1.00 and sold door to door at $1.25 a copy. Pioneering JWs received their stock at about one fifth of the final price; that was one fourth the regular JW rate if I recall correctly.
Annual magazine subscriptions were fairly cheap and many JWs had them as often the subscription issue would arrive before the congregation distribution. But many were dropped when the elders received word from Brooklyn that the WTBTS was then losing money on mailing costs.

Called for Jury Duty
by frankiespeakin ini'm what you would call a unpatriotic, and a free thinker who doesn't agree with the judicial system in california.
i've been called for jd about six or more times and every time they never use me because i make it very plain that i don't and won't play be thier rules when it comes to jd.
usually i'm the first one the prosecutor dismisses because of my free thinking unpatriotic point of views that i make known as soon as i can.. i think our prisons are over crowded because of the states eagerness to inprision people, for things that i can never agree with.

If it can be done without getting a contempt of court citation, just mention the FIJA ( http://www.fija.org/ ) and your belief that a jury also has the legal choice to find the law improper and invalid. If the charges in the case are for a victimless crime, then the prosecutor will probably want you off the case and far away from the courthouse as soon as possible.

When the effeminate Nathan Knorr entered into his sexless marriage, it could be said that he acquired a beard.
--------
From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beard_%28female_companion%29
In gay slang, a beard is a female companion used to hide a gay man's sexuality by appearing in public as if she and the gay man were a heterosexual couple. It is generally considered poor form for a gay man to not reveal his homosexuality to the woman. The term originated in the mid-1960s, and is derived from the notion that a man with a woman on his arm looks more masculine, like a man with a beard. A male companion who accompanies a lesbian woman for the same purposes is sometimes called a merkin.
In the early years of the gay rights movement, some homophile organizations required members to bring beards with them to meetings, for protection in case the police raided the meeting.
Closeted gay men and lesbians may also take part in this kind of relationship, to their mutual advantage. In the past a great many gay men and lesbians, such as Elton John, married in order to fit in with heterosexual society ?" this practice continues today, but less so, as the gay rights movement has made society more accepting of "out" gay men and lesbians.
In the 1920's this union was sometimes referred to as a Lavender marriage.
This term should not be confused with fag hag.
In Woody Allen's film "Broadway Danny Rose", Allen's character insists he is only 'the beard' and not a boyfriend when confronted by gangsters while he escorts Tina (played by Mia Farrow).
The television show Seinfeld brought this term into mainstream awareness by titling an episode "The Beard" in which Elaine Benes helps a homosexual friend hide his orientation, and eventually tries to convert him. -

It's already started. The WTBTS elite are already killers and have been for a long time. They've killed with their crank medical advice in the _Golden Age_ and other publications. They've killed with their prohibitions on organ transplants and vaccinations. They're killing today with their criminal ban on blood transfusions.
And they continue to kill by enforcing fear in place of encouraging hope, by destroying friendships and families with their contemptible shunning, by promoting slavery in place of education, and by murdering minds with their ban on independent thinking and research.
The WTBTS has been serving up a deadly drink for a long time, and the ones at the top are quite aware of this. In fact, they labor daily to come up with even more potent poison.

Here's a link that will help with a free search of the US Social Security Death Index:

It may be helpful for locating lost friends and family who have passed away. -

It's tough to lose a pet by any cause, but euthenasia is the least painful for the animal.
I almost lost my Smokey Cat a few months ago. He's doing much better but he's so old that the next episode may be his last. He had a long and hard life before the cat shelter rescued him from a city alleyway, so I've tried to make his days as comfortable as possible.
When the time comes -- a couple of weeks later there will be another shelter cat welcomed into the house. My home is a modest one and it has a hole in it that needs at least two cats to fill. -
