UK'ers only - Benefits of a Safe House
by Celtic inmany we know on leaving the jw's feel incredibly isolated.
on top of the problems directly associated with this feeling of isolation, often there are many other factors below the surface compounding and therefore hindering cognitive recovery.. for some the problems seem only slight, for others they are enormous and suicidal feelings may be the end result due to a belief that no-one understands or can help in any way at all.. on the ground support for former jehovahs witnesses is very very limited within the uk.
although if you fall into many other categories, i.e.

Personnaly speaking I would love just to meet up with someone in a pub for a chat over a few pints .Any takers?
Celtic why are you so upset?
Just because people may not have the same vision as you does not make them any less a person.
I think like you it would be good to have a suppport group.
But not everyone is in a position to help easily.
There are some like me who need to keep a low profile in order to help people we know of.
If we blow that cover people may lose their life line. -

So do they hold a majority of stock?
It would make a difference if there was an inter-reationship between companies and the society as interest of other parties would be involved.
I'm just asking the question as I wish to know more. -

Does all the money they (the society) recives go through investments before it is used?
How will the society owning shares in companies effect the company it self and its relationship to the society?( would the company seek the continued existance of the society in order to stay alive?)
Sorry I know little about these subjects as I am not involved in the buisness world. -

How sure were you that it was the truth?
by sleepy inwhen you were a witness how sure were you that it was the truth?.
were you totally convinced or did you think it was just the best way to serve a god but not perfect.. it amazes me when i think of how vigourusly i defended the witness and my ideals when on the minisrty and in talking to friends.. what worries me is that if i was so covinced then about what i belive then should i be so convinced now.. back then i was at the pinnacle of understanding or at least i belived i was , do i feel the same now?.
well i try to not be so dogmatic about thing now.

Thank you Xena , nice to be appreciated.
I was like you Jan H but in my middle twenties.None of my freinds know about me yet as I am (was)in a different cong to all of them.
Most were lax in the "truth" I wonder how they will treat me when they know.
Well I will find out over christmas as I have been invited to some witness parties.I wonder what will happen when they know. -

Well I try to not be so dogmatic about thing now. I just when reasoning , try to belive what seems most reasonable according to my current knowledge ,but always alow that something may come along and shatter it.
Has the realisation that you can totally belive something and yet be wrong changed you?So how do you rate yourself as an ex JW believer?
Were you,
0. fanatic
1. fully convinced.
2. quite sure but with a bit of doubt.
3. knew there was something wrong but not quite sure.
4. just went along with it for other reasons.
5. never believed
6. couldn't give a toss
And how do you rate yourself now about what you believe?
