yesterday i was approached by a man who offered me a free stress test.
i immediately recognised this as a scientology scam (ok, he was standing outside the scientology building) but it got me thinking.. ireland is a small country, and over 90 percent of the population are catholic.
most of the rest are anglican or presbyterian.

Where I lived preaching was confined to just a few streets around the book study group areas , which would get done every few weeks at the same time of day.Most areas were hardly touched and no one did not at homes.
I think most other religious groups who preach tend to focous on were people are rather than going door to door.

One sister in my hall would have the Watchtower and Awake open and would just start reading a paragraph when someone answered the door.

as former jw i did witness favouritism towards elders and circuit overseers and also noticed how low status j-dubs actually lined up to speak to the circuit/overseers wife.even outside association seemed to be confined to say elders associating with elders etc.
i remember when even a sister gave a glass of water to a coughing circuit.overseer but i noticed she never did this to others in the hall.. then for instance how many at the hall formed groupies after meetings not making any effort to gell with others,i felt so sorry for those just sitting on there own.. so why do they act like this, it beats me because a lot of literature and talks focused on not being impartial to others,were they really taking it in or was it a question of congregation status or favouritism towards others.. also outside the meetings association didnt seem to exist and only confined to a certain favoured individuals.

how do you feel about your friends you left behind and in the organisation and who now shun you?
do you feel they are still your friends, and are just doing what they think is right?

it doesnt take much analytical posturing when looking in retrospect at what are increasingly difficult positions of religious conviction, to see that the direction taken by the parties involved in governing the publishers and individuals involved that constitute the quasi religious organisation of jehovahs witness are not in sequence with nor do they in principle touch the cornerstones of contemporary thinking and rational logic.. consequently the reaction to the typical agenda of the said ruling party and its effect to the alienated from membership of that group can be said to inflame the righteous indignation of all who have come into opposition to the obfuscating blanket of self-belief represented by the non elected members of that ruling group.. in plane terms , relying on a self contractually envelope of authoritarian leadership results in a malignant tumour the like of which can not be remove by mechanical nor medicinal methods.. if only the language used to harangue the subjects of so called theocratic conflict was not so guarded in dappled wording and opaque analysis, then and only then could the luminosity of integrity and reality shine dazzlingly.

is there anything that could make you go back?.
what do you think, is there any change of belief or change of circumstance that could make you return to the jw fold?.
i cant see anything that could make me go back,but i was thinking mabye some of you religious types would go back if they changed some doctrinal things,or if they stopped banning blood.. how about if a family member was dying and hoped to see you in paradise would you go back for a while just to make them feel happy?

theres got to be quite a few here who, like me are the only onbe to turn "apostate" in their family.. although you know you've done the right thing, all your family think either you have been mislead by satan or you have turned evil.. how do you feel around your family,and do you wonder what they think of you?
