There is a wealth of forms and corresponding documentation that are held in the files of both active and disfellowshipped Jehovah's Witnesses. Considering there are 7 million publishers and another 1 percent of Jehovah's Witnesses that are disfellowshipped every year (over 60,000), that is a lot of filing cabinets.

Why bother to go through all the effort and emotions to gain access to these files? To remove some of the mystique and prove that the Watchtower Society is not above the law. Though its leaders hide behind terms such as "directed by holy spirit" and "faithful and discreet slave" to dictate to and Lord it over glassy eyed followers, it is simply a legal, worldly corporation run by men. If I disassociate myself from the org.,can I obtain all of my information that they have on me ? Legally ?

i am just wondering what is the legality of obtaining your own personall information once you have disassociated yourself from this organization.

I wrote them and tried to get a copy of my disassociation leter from them..they refused. Said it was their private property now.

I am sure if I got a lawyer he could pursuade them to send me a copy..

But so not worth it.

WT Seeking Donations Of Gold: News To Me... When and Where?

i noted in a thread on kingdom hall remodelling that some mentioned that a call for donations of gold jewellery was made from the platform.

since this sounds like something that would have been presented by a part on the service meeting and therefore noted in the kingdom ministry schedule, can anyone recall the specifics of this?

if so, how recently?

#4 Preparing For The Coming Financial Collapse

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that we are living in the greatest debt bubble in the history of the world and that at some point the world financial system is going to crash. When that happens, the safest place to be will be in precious metals and other commodities. The Chinese have been busy gobbling up gold, silver and many other commodities, and so whether they mean to or not, they are positioning themselves to weather the coming financial storm better than most other nations.

Once again, it is always hard to tell exactly what China is doing. Perhaps in six months or a year China will change course again. But right now China is gobbling up huge amounts of gold, and if this continues it is going to create a huge imbalance in global financial markets.

In fact, if all of this Chinese gold buying goes on long enough, it could blow out many of those who are holding significant short positions in gold.

got a twenty pound turkey last november.

a very kind organization gave my family another turkey and all the fixin's so i needed to store the first turkey.

asked my mother to do it.

When will the awful shunning nightmares stop?

it's bad enough that i am being shunned in real life by my family in ohio who i had always been close to.

ever since i have had at least one dream a week about being around my family but they refuse to talk to me.. will the dreams ever stop?

how can i make them stop?.

I wonder what would happen if the Ex JW's went back constantly to the hall and talked to everyone like nothing happened..would they get kicked out?..Issued a restraining order against them?

One of those things that make you go Hmmmmmm???

As far as I know there is no rule against the Ex JW talking to them..

Terrible conduct by congregation Elders in hospital room !

my uncle was rushed to the hospital last tuesday with severe stomach pain.

(he was diagnosed with colon cancer one year ago.

the doctors, family,and my uncle decided against colon surgery.

First of all I am so sorry your Uncle is having to go through so much pain..I hope it goes easy for him. My heart goes out to you!

And I'm not surprised about the actions of the witnesses,..they only wanted to pray because so many were there (in my opinion) ..they like to put up a front. When my hubby was in hospital and got his 6 month to live speech from the doctors..the laison committee moved in..they came to visit but no one offered to say a prayer for my hubby..I am disassociated but not disfellowshipped. I had to ask them to say a prayer..they finally said a short one. Then when he was at home in his last days 2 witnesses (brothers) came to visit(their one visit) ..again no prayer..my hubby was in good standing just not as active as they would have liked in earlier days..they acted like it ws to late to pray as he was already dying..they actually looked at me like I was crazy when I asked them to say a prayer.He loved his religion and I thought it would give him strength to face his dying. If hubby wasn't so sick I would have liked to slap the silly right off their stupid faces..

No love lost on them..
