so often we are stuck in the negative part of life and see so much of the bad.
the news is full of it.
i look for the things that are nice.
I could have sworn I saw "Lady Lee's" name pop up when I had just went to "Slippy's". (Someone posted that the board was back up).
That made me smile...

last saturday i was at my favorite coffee shop with my three year old son -- great place because it has a train table to entertain the kids while mom has some coffee.
first thing i notice is what appears to be dubs but on closer inspection the two daughters look way too trendy to be dubs -- the parents, however, are spot on and were so dubesque i nearly laughed out loud.
so, hanging out having coffee with some other moms and i notice the daughters of the above mentioned family keep smiling at my son.
We would say "Congregation"...they seemed to understand that.
It implied more of a religious nature than Kingdom Hall.
Which (Kingdom Hall) may lead some to think we belonged to a cult of some kind...

okay, this is going to step on someones toes, i just know it.. when i stopped going to the meetings, i was talking a person at the time in the 1990's who had been out for a long time.
i thought it was interesting when he mentioned that he still went to meetings and worshipped jehovah, just not with the watchtower.
so i was wondering what he meant, and one weekend while in california with him and a group function for my employer at the time, he invited me to go a meeting.
I saw a license plate the other day that said J-HOVAH..well I of couse thought..witnesses..but then I noticed a voting sticker on the side of the bumper..totally threw me..

This is so funny because my grandaughter just had her confirmation at her Catholic church. I was reading the instructions for dress apparell and it said no dresses should be more than 4 inches above the knee. Well she's not that tall..4 inches would be
It also said no sundresses..so what do they get her to wear? A sundress!..Course they rushed out at the last minute and got her a little tiny sweater top to wear over it...
I remember too at the KH..all women and girls should wear pantyhose!..
Dresses to the knees or longer..but not TOO long..
Didn't want to give those horney brothers a spastic attack...
Every wife I talked to at the hall would go on and on about their sex life..like I wanted to hear about it.When their husbands would give a talk and be all serious..I would have a hard time trying to keep from giggling..

years ago, before coming to this board to read for awhile and then post, i first ran across this website beyondjw.com.
it had a message board that seemed pretty active, keep in mind i was shocked at the time to even see former witnesses in message boards.
well i went off line for awhile and never really looked at former witness sites for along time and when i checked that message board, it was just an information website with links to other boards, like this one.
I was there the whole time. I started on a board he had before that one..but can't remember the name. He also had one on Yahoo called "Wisteria" for a while. It can still be pulled up but is no longer a XJW board.. I see a lot of familiar names there that are still posting on other XJW sites.
Ronnie was from Tim's site and has his own board now. It's a mellow board and quite small. I stop by there once in a while to say hi.
I see posts from some that used to post on Tim's board but quit and went elswhere before he closed the site..but I only see a few that were activly posting at Tim's when he closed down.

i posted a while ago that i had asked the aust bethel for my personal records under the privacy act 1988. bethel refused.
i then lodged a complaint with the privacy commission.
bethel signed a stat dec that they are not covered by the privacy act, and so the case was closed.
I remember when you first posted this.
I tries to get mine before that but was unsuccessful. They said it was their property.
Later when my JW MIL wanted to know if she could associate with me as family..they sent away for a copy of my Disassociation letter.
Well sure enough the elders there got a copy. They told her that it was OK to associate with me according to my letter. Now I was wondering what I had said..I do know I told them I no longer wanted to be a JW..
I wanted to see just what I wrote..it was a long time ago. But they refused.
Oh well..if you ever get yours maybe I will pursue it..otherwise..not.
I am in USA I don't know what our laws are about the privacy act. Maybe I will take the time to look it up some time..

we have a senior department of health in rockingham county that has a lot of things for seniors.
one of them is the senior games.
they have a bowling league also all year that my dfed brother and i enjoy participating in.
Would I qualify?

i hand push my lawn mower.
i mow three yards.
the one i gave my daughter is the hardest to mow because it has a down hill side to it that makes it hard to stand up and push the mower.
Yep..I too am feeling it and I am only 64..
I used to cut our grass and my MIL's farm. She had a big lot. But I used a riding lawn mower.
Have you considered getting a self propelled mower? You can still walk and get the exercise but the lawnmower will pull you..And the front wheel propelled is the best for turning corners..
They are also cheaper then a riding lawn mower.Unless you are mechanically inclined and can work on a used one as needed..
I was always working on mine till it finally blew..
Stay away from Drs. and you will live longer..No really ..we should all have a checkup at least annually.If hubby had went to the Dr when I wanted him too he may still be alive today..
So get your check up and relax..we need to enjoy these golden years...

ps..Is your lawnmower a manual push or just a motor one that you have to push?
I hate those manual ones...my MIL got one and it kept flipping over on me.Too many small rocks in her yard.And it took me two hours to cut it on a riding mower...
