most HATED thing about the meetings ...
by alliwannadoislive inhey ya'll ... ain't tuesdays, thursdays and sundays even better nowadays ?.
i was wondering what it is that you hated most about the meets ?.
the one thing that used to really rile me was the pressure to control the children - the frowns and the disapproving looks when they were just behaving like normal kids .... the worst of it all for me was seeing any little person being taken outside and hearing the loud slaps even when the door was closed .... what is it that you least miss ?

The Secret of Sunchild
by Darkchilde inyes, it's me, "sunchild.
" i apologize for posting something so self-indulgent and mostly off-topic, but i sense that i've confused a few people here lately.
maybe this will clear things up... or just raise more questions.. i know that i'm not quite as old as some other people who post here.

Rochelle, I think you have just described 95% of the human population, I've always said, we're all just damaged goods from the beginning. The challenge is to find what is salvageable in ourselves and make it work....take care...Kim

Gwen.....dear, this idiot really raised your blood pressure! Let me say this, if Godrules is such a fine upstanding JW what the hell is he/she doing posting here to begin with, doesn't he/she know they are going against the counsel of the "Faithful and Discreet Slave"? That they are committing a secret sin, and that Jehovah will reveal it to keep his people holy and clean...???? Why does Godrules feel the need to waste his time un us Apostates???? I can't go on, it's making me sick....
signed, your fellow enemy of Jehovah....what a crock...

HELP! - I'm Torn
by Francois inthere's no doubt that in many religious philosophies, believers are advised not to fight with evil; not to resist.
jesus certainly advised his followers not to "resist evil.".
and that's why i'm torn.. i believe, as do most of you here, that the watchtower bible & tract society is evil; a manifest, clear, present, and palpable evil.

Francoise, I think you may have that out of context.....I think that refers to evil that one may encounter as a result of their walk with God, for example, Christ didn't resist arrest and execution....but I do believe we are to resist evil......in the general sense....for example, child abuse, cultism, etc.....in this particular case, I say WE MUST RESIST THE WTS, it's our DUTY as survivors....and I believe them to be the anti-Christ.....or something of its equivelant.....

WTBTS Innocent in Swaggart Case?
by troubled inawhile back, i saw information on another web site about the wtbts's involvement with the swaggart case.
the information was presented in a way that depicted the wtbts as involved with the swaggart case and, therefore, false religion.. at first, i was shocked.
however, i did some research on what an amicus curie is.

I remember when this change took place....we were told weeks in advance, "You must be at the meeting Sunday....of such and such month...blah, blah. For a special announcement"....hell, we thought the "great tribulation" was starting.....sick really....so they read the letter, It was in 1990 I believe...anyway....but I had noticed it at the 89 District Convention, lost my songbook, went up to buy a new one and they didn't charge me....thought it was weird....but anyway, that's also why they take their lunches at assemblies now....IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY! At any rate, I think any involvement in the Swaggart case was extremely hipocrytical and deceitful.....which is par for the course...

I Have a Dream - for ex-JWs
by Amazing inthe following is taken directly from the closing of the speech given by dr. maring luther king, jr. 38 eight years ago on august 28, 1963, "i have a dream".
in a future post, i will injected some respectfully intended comments after his thoughts because of the irony of his references and how they relate to ex-jws.. "and so let freedom ring ... and when this happens, when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of god's children, black men and white men, jews and gentiles, protestants and catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old negro spiritual, "free at last, free at last.
thank god almighty, we are free at last.".

by Black Man in30 that seems to put jw's at a cross-roads?
i've known so many who have decided to abandon ship at either the age of 30 or either after 30 years of being baptized.

Mommy, the little elderly sister who doubted the validity of the scriptures in Proverbs was a trippppp.....she used to make us all laugh so hard...especially in service....
One time in the meeting for field service they were talking about taking accurate house to house records.....she raises her hand and asks the brother...."Well, what are you supposed to do if ya can't write? My hands are too shaky!" He says, "Sister, maybe you should take one of the younger ones with you (teens) so they can write for you!" She replies...."Not from this worthless bunch, they'll have my call book all messed up!"
She used to always get a hamburger from Wendy's for lunch....meat, bread and ONIONS....then an hour later she would say...."I smell onions....how rude to eat them and come out in service....Who ate those onions????"
She would always accuse who ever was working with her of trying to steal her calls.....one time I was in the car with her and a brother and she left him at the door and got back in the car....said..."There that Corey goes again....stealin' my calls...that's dirty!"

5.Mentally disturbed sister who ran out of her medication, had been out trying to get in people's cars during the meeting, which she attended in shorts, she comes back into the KH and won't sit down, one of the elders gets up to talk to her and she spreads her legs wide and crunches down in a wrestling stance and says. "C'mon Abner!", (his name was Abner)...
6.Heard of a middle-aged sister body slamming her step mother in the parking lot of the KH after the meeting.....Kicked her ass good and proper!
