  she was divorcing her husband, found herself lonely and hurting and turned to a brother for comfort.

  Gosh LB,

  I'm not sure what to say. I feel so sorry for her being treated like that. It must feel like quite a betrayal. How does she all view this? Does she see this as a hypocritical attack, or does she view it as another test from Jehovah? All that back-biting and then she ends up the villian. Poor thing.

  BTW, I think you are in big trouble for talking to her, as she is DF and you are just inactive.

  Cool Wasa! We went through there on our vacation to the Grand Canyon last May. Being a Star Trek fan, I went to the Star Trek Experience at the Hilton. My husband played in the casino. I went on the ride several times, at Quark's and bought lots of dorky souveniers. I LOVED IT!

  BTW, while most people are playing in the casino, the Trekkies are ususally downstairs watching old reruns on the big screen TV. How's that for geeky?

  of course i know that many of you here do not believe in the bible and its promise of a resurrection.

  some of you do not even believe in a creator.

  but those of you apostates that still do believe in a resurrection back to life, you would no doubt agree that not everyone of those who are resurrected will come back to life all at once.

  Where in the Bible does all of this malarkey come from? I thought the Bible said something about how ALL those in the memorial tombs would hear his voice and come out. There is a mathematical formula well established for the speed of sound in normal atmospheric conditions. Are you telling me that scientific laws will cease to exist as we know them after the Big A? That some people in one part of a cemetary will hear his voice several hundred years faster than someone in another part of a cemetary?

  Please explain this fantastic theory of yours in more detail. Also, can you give us the mathematical formula for this new variation of the speed of sound? This would revolutionize the world as we know it. You could very well be the next Einstein.

  hi i've tried several times to post my not so now i'm going shorten it to i beleave that people go to the hall w/good intentions & strong beliefs which i have no problem with that in itself but i cant measured what 1 indivudual should or should not be doing.

  i don't think that these same people would show up to evrery 5 meeting every week if they thought it was all a crock.

  anyway, we must be careful beause what's good for the gander is not neccessarily good for the ganer.

  last week my niece died in a car crash.

  she was only 18 years old.

  i haven't seen her since she was 10. i missed her all that time.

  Thank you everyone. Posting my feelings here and reading your responses has been very good for me.

  Been There, your idea of writing a long letter is a really good one.

  Scully, I don't know if I can contact my brother yet, but maybe in time. I recently sent my family a letter, and it definately made the rounds, from what I can determine. In it I told my brother that I had come to the point of forgiving him for some matters that were between us and that it was in the past. I think this may have influenced him positively in his decision to let me know about this death. I also told my family that I had become aware of family business (aunts and uncles who have died) that they didn't let me know about, and this violated their rules (Kingdom Ministry insert, August 2002). This may have actually worked in my favor too, believe it or not. So I will take it slowly. I need to give them some time to grieve without bringing my issues into there lives again.

  Thank you all. I have the best friends here on this board! I can talk to you and you know exactly what I am feeling. I'm just sorry that so many of us had to go through such pain to get here.

  i was laughing at the thread talking about the blue smurfs, how demonic they were.

  :) it made me remember other stupid phobias the witnesses had, and how easy rumours were to spead around.

  one for instance, was the false rumour about proctor and gamble, and how their business emblem/ picture/ whatever you call it was demonic, and how it was the sign of the devil, and to stay away from anything to do with that company.

  I remember at one talk at a circus assembly they said that sisters shouldn't wear dark colored panty hose, only nude or beige. The dark colored panty hose were linked to prostitution.

  We weren't allowed to say golly, gee-whiz, or gosh because they were other forms of saying God, or Jesus.

  One kid told me that they knew someone who bit into a Milky Way bar and there was blood in it instead of carmel because they hadn't mixed it enough at the factory.

  In case the demons start to molest you in bed at night, yell JEHOVAH! as loud as you can and they will stop immediately. The yelling part was apparently to make sure those hard-of-hearing demons heard you.

  Masturbation leads to homosexuality.

  Stickers are laced with drugs to get little kids hooked.

  One sister believed that David Copperfield and other stage magicians must have called upon demons to perform their illusions. Kreskin was also looked upon with Satanic contacts.

  A JW in Florida was once so involved with the demons, he knew them on a first name basis and could open and close curtains with his mind. I wonder why he didn't get that act on the road like David Copperfield.

  Only Mary had a true virgin birth, but young girls could get pregnant swimming too close to boys in the swimming pool. I wondered if they shouldn't have two baptismal pools at the assemblies and have lady dunkers as well.

  M & M's had blood in them, but then some of us kids reasoned that they were okay because they were too little to have any blood. We bit into some and there was no blood.

  Demonic possesed items defy all laws of science regarding combustion when set on fire.

  One brother noticed that he had trouble staying within the speed limit after buying shoes at a second hand store. These were demonized shoes that were making him break the law. ("Officer, the Devil made me do it!")

  You must be careful eating at Polynesian restaurants because of the Tiki's. They could exert a demon influence.

  Women with pierced ears were loose.

  That's all I can think of. Silly now looking back at it!

  I too have left their faith and was shunned.

  Here in Oregon they have had a lot of negative press on their shunning policies because of the Longo and Bryant cases. Especially the Bryant case. If they can put the spin on the situation that people aren't shunned unless they are murderers, adulterers, theives, etc., then most people will understand their not wanting to associate with them. But the public has a hard time understanding shunning for having a difference of opinion with church elders, smoking a cigarette, eating birthday cake, celebrating Christmas, or leaving the faith.

  By putting for public statements like these, it makes it seem that they love and except everyone except the vile rejects of society.

  Dear Nikita,

  Thank you for the flowers. I love cheery daffodils. It makes me think that even though they are here for such a short time, they grace us with their beauty and our lives are enriched for it. That was very much like my niece. Now you have me crying again, but it is kind of a happy cry.
