WERE YOU A "GOOD" PUBLISHER?
by minimus inone of the first "privileges" any prospective witness has is that of being a publisher.of course, once you're a publisher, you are one for life.
so, either you are a "good" publisher or a "bad" one.
a good publisher has to get the national average,be a "good" example, and pretty much do whatever the elders ask of you.

Greetings from Disneyland
by Mulan inprincess and i are sitting on the bed, drinking scotch, and the children are sleeping.........they need it..............and so do we.. after two days, we agree, we should have left the kids at home.
just kidding.
today was difficult, but we have high hopes for tomorrow.. princess, her two children, and i, were ready to get on the log, for splash mountain, and the little girl refused to do it..........screaming.

Thats great. If you get a chance eat at the Blue Bayou Restaurant. It is really cool. You eat dinner inside the Pirates of the Carribean ride.
Also Just so you know If you and princess both want to go on the ride and the kids don't you can take them in line with you and they can wait for you with the ride operator why you go on.

Xander, I think you and your wife and your families mirrors me and Random Tasks families. Except my family thinks I took Random from the truth. His family thinks he took me away. The only good thing is his family has stopped going now.
My brother though is exactly like your brother. He will make things up and when you call him on it he says I don't care. I won this argument. You just sit there dumb founded by the stupidity. You don't know what to say. I wish I could help you but I haven't figured out how to argue with my brother. Maybe someone out there can give us both advice.

Which did you prefer? Watchtower or Awake?
by LDH inwhen i was a jw, i really couldn't stomach the watchtowers.
the only articles i would read would be for the family study/watchtower study.
it seemed so archaic and old-people-ish.. i did read the awake from cover to cover almost every time.

does anyone have the answer?
by ness21 ini was brought up in "the truth", i have the odd bible study now and again, funny enough the last time was a week after 9/11, as im still subconsciously in fear of armageddon, but i haven fundamental problems with some of their teaching, hence my joy at finding this site.
i also used to think armageddon was coming at the sight of the smallest storm.
has anybody found what they think is "the truth" since coming away?.

I don't think anyone really knows what God knows, I don't think we are suppose to know. I think that if we are good people and love God he will love us. I think some people have a need to belong to a group to feel they are serving God. I am personally debating between Buddhist and Jewish. There are things I like about both. The Jewish religion does not believe you have to convert and believe only what they do to be a good person. I like that Idea. You just have to live your life as a good person. Do not murder, love your neighbor, etc.

Why has God Permitted Wickedness?
by hillary_step inyes, i know what the wts teaches....but what do you believe?.
if god exists why is there is so much suffering both among humans and even more so among his creation, where all animals must, deceive then eat one another to survive?
if he does not exist why is there is so much suffering both among humans and even more so among nature where all animals must eat one another to survive?

Why is there so much good? So many people focus on whats bad with our world and nobody seems to actually take a look around and say "life isn't perfect, but theres a lot of good going on too".
Do I deny that there is suffering? Certainly not, even I have suffered at times, but I've also experienced a lot of good in my life. Its part of the human experience and one of the things that comes with human free will. You can't have it both ways, either you are god's robot and live "happy" or you are loosed from those bonds and deal with life. I choose the latter because at the end of the day, in fact at the end of my life I think I will feel more satisfied and happier.
HUmans still suffer needlessly though, but these problem's are mans doing, and man has to find a way to solve them. I think that the trend of human history shows that much of the needless suffering that goes on will be done away with BY MAN'S OWN HANDS. Maybe it won't be done in any of our lifetimes, in fact most likely it won't, but eventually it will. I just try to do my part by adding to the good while I am here.
Damn, I posted under my wife's name again, this post is actually from RandomTask

Valis, I'm NOT a wimp (Tattoo)
by LB inyep i took lots of heat from valis for worrying about my pain threshold but i went down today during meeting time and got my first tat.
it's a hawaiian tribal turtle.
it wasn't painful at all, maybe because of the location but it did burn a bit.
