No comments from those who had their own vision, from...... I don't know...... maybe Jesus? I'm disappointed. Guess they just can't relate.

Why is god hiding?
by AK - Jeff inwhat god could have done to show himself:.
he could have left incontrovertible evidence of his existence.he could have made it impossibly evident that mankind has been here only 6000 years, not the 200,000 give or take, that fossil evidence supports.
he could have provided evidence through jesus to millions of non-believers, instead of focusing on a small band of fanatical followers eager to point to 'the messiah'.he could at any time, being the ultimate of beings, just simply show himself in the sky, speak to millions instead of to the lonely occasional deluded sheepherder in the desert, or provide miracles to millions of us as observers - part the ocean, cure cancer and announce it from heaven in a clear unmistakable voice, or instantaneously stop starvation and plague in it's tracks.

Thanks for starting the thread Jeff. Anyone who bases their life on reality and not emotion can understand how important the things you brought up are.
I have gotten the same response from a friend when presenting this type of evidence that you got from Snowbird, ie if you really didn't care you would not worry about it. In my case, I don't worry about it but bring it up because of people like Snowbird who present their emotional experience as reality based. If people like her would just admit it's just something that makes them feel good and that it could be nothing more than a delusion, I would not feel he need to bring up the subject. But I have yet to see anyone like her do that.
Being mislead for so many years because I just happened to have parents who tainted me from birth and never explained that there might be another choice, I applaud your efforts to spread the message of reality which hopefully someday will relagate Jesus to the status of Hercules.

There was a time when I was sure that my 3 "annointed" grandparents in heaven were somehow responsible for getting me out of close calls. I finally figured out that was all fantasy and that sometimes good things happen and sometimes bad.

by superpunk ini have an e-friend who is trying to leave quietly, but his wife is still buying the wts explanations.
he asked me this earlier today, wondering if anyone here has heard this chestnut, and if they'd be able to clarify.
thanks in advance;.

Reminds me of the mental gymnastics some believers on this board go through to stick up for their god. One thing I have learned in my journey, if someone wants to believe something they will find a way. Wish I could help you with your question but I doubt the claim has any meri. But it would be real easy to run it by Ray, he could probably use a laugh.

Jehovah's Witnesses serve up LEFTOVERS from other plates
by Terry inthe doctrines of jehovah's witnesses are not original.. if they are not original and originating from their "faithful and discreet slave" class of anointed "prophets"--then they must be 2nd hand from other sources.. this would at once disprove the proprietary claims of special relationship with god as his mouthpiece.where did their ideas, doctrines, chronologies and reasonings find their source?
was it the "anointed" slave or was it from earlier failed speculators who had polished a messege that got people worked up into a fervor?.
for the answer to this we must revisit the time of the watchtower society's founder, c.t.

Another great post Terry! I have a question, how can you possibly keep starting these great threads. Is that why you disappeared for a while, you were busy composing a whole slough of threads that you could share with us? Whatever, keep it up.

by Brocephus inalready had doubts from the time i got pubes... but i was about 15 and we were studying the revelation "book" for the upteenth time.
i realized for every actual bible verse they qouted there was 2-3 paragraphs of conjecture, assumption, faulty logic and just plain stupidity.
that's when i began to plan my escape.

Concerning Abaddon, from wikipedia: Identifying Abaddon The symbolism of Revelation 9:11 leaves the exact identification of Abaddon open for interpretation. Some bible scholars believe him to be the antichrist[9] or Satan.[10][11][12] In the past Jehovah's Witnesses shared the idea that Abaddon was Satan.[13] Modern Jehovah's Witnesses take the contrasting view, believing that Abaddon is a name given to Jesus.[14][15] References 1.^ KJV, Rev. 9:1-11. 2.^ See any Hebrew dictionary entry for Strong number 6; you can search for it using The Unbound Bible's lexicon search tool. 3.^ a b Davidson, Gustav (1994) [1967]. Undercover- my feelings exactly. Since I left I have repeatly heard that my problem is that I never developed a personal relationship with Jehovah. I find that to be an unarguable point. Just like those that left the JW's and somehow got invited to sit in Jesus' lap.
