After coming to the conclusion such a being does not exist, to be honest I never felt the need to talk to him. I have however had to deal with the reality of death that has confronted me. After losing my parents 4 years ago, tears still come easily and sometimes I wonder if living in the fantasy world I used to live in would have made my situation different. I have no way of knowing at this point. But still, I have never felt the need to speak to god.

IF THE BIBLE is so darned great---why don't people JUST read IT?
by Terry inworking in a bookstore i notice the thousands and thousands of books "explaining" what the bible really "means.".
those are what people read.. when people say they read the bible they are really saying they "try".
but, it is like reading chinese.. so, what they end up doing is reading opinions.. opinions, conjectures, hypothesis, fantasy, imaginative ruminations, fanciful concoctions......other people's ideas presented as documentary fact.. .

Oracle, I really relate to your comments.
It struck me reading this thread that of all the books I have read in my life I can't think of any I felt the need to keep reading over and over again. I read C of C and it changed my life more than anything I have ever read, but I never felt the need to read it over and over again. I grew up with the idea that reading the bible every day was necessary if you wanted to live forever. Seems like lots of people believe variations of that idea besides JW's. Makes no sense to me now.

Don't know if this is authentic or not, but it really doesn't matter. It's still a great analogy
The owner of the Phoenix Suns basketball team, Robert Sarver, opposes AZ's new immigration laws. Arizona 's Governor, Jan Brewer, released the following statement in response to Sarver's criticism of the new law:
"What if the owners of the Suns discovered that hordes of people were sneaking into games without paying? What if they had a good idea who the gate-crashers are, but the ushers and security personnel were not allowed to ask these folks to produce their ticket stubs, thus non-paying attendees couldn't be ejected. Furthermore, what if Suns' ownership was expected to provide those who sneaked in with complimentary eats and drink? And what if, on those days when a gate-crasher became ill or injured, the Suns had to provide free medical care and shelter?" - Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer -

Perry - Question about original sin
by startingover infor perry and all the others that say humans are sinful creatures in need of redemption: .
since i'm certain you consider sexual perversion to be a big part of that sinful nature humans supposedly inherited, i have a question regarding the young fella in the video below.
don't his actions show he is also fallen flesh in need of redemption?

If I was asked, I would reply that bothers me is that somehow the GB has gone beyond what it says in the bible and seperated themselves from this "class", giving them authority not given the others.

For Perry and all the others that say humans are sinful creatures in need of redemption:
Since I'm certain you consider sexual perversion to be a big part of that sinful nature humans supposedly inherited, I have a question regarding the young fella in the video below. Don't his actions show he is also fallen flesh in need of redemption? I say a better explanation is that humans are as much animals as this young guy.

What a messed up Cult the JW religion is
by Think About It ini'm reading coc for the first time.
a governing body that is suppose to be god's channel on earth and led by jehovah's holy spirit could not even change jw dogma even though the majority of those present voted for change.
there had to be a 2/3's vote of the total gb membership.

Imagine a WT Paradise Earth with over 100 Billion People- Not!
by moshe infor years the wt has claimed that only 20 billion people have ever lived on the earth- in 1988 they claimed that there would be 1/3 hectare of every person who ever lived, which they said was enough to grow all the food that was needed.
a more realistic number by the population reference bureau is over 100 billion.
life in the wt utopia would resemble living in third world slums with just one bowl of food a day.

For Terry - So That it Will "Make Sense"
by Perry interry, since you have long proclaimed your inability to comprehend the greatest expression of love in the universe, substitutionary atonement; perhaps this scene from the last of the mohicans will help you to understand.. the chief has just handed down a death sentence to the brunette daughter of the captured english general.
the english officer in this scene can speak both english and french.
since daniel day lewis can only speak mohican and english, and the cheif can only speak huron and french, the captured english officer must translate to the chief in french.

After reading this last barrage from the infamous Perry, I have changed my mind. In my efforts to understand I attributed it to a quirk in the brain. It's a quirk alright, but I guess it's better termed a delusion.
