The Final Solution.. to the Anointed question.
by cyberjesus inthis cult who thought at some point that all of them were going to go to heaven realized that their numbers were growing therefore they had to create another group to explain the delay on their own rapture and their predicted end of the world.
they then created a separation of categories... the originals, the old ones, in other words the anointed, a selected groups that you cant be part of because only 144,000 are selected, so they had to come up with all sort of excuses why the end was not coming.
so many explanations to jesus words.. they were buying time, the end had to come at any moment, 1941... 1975... before the end of the century.... but at the last moment this cultish doctrine back fired on them... the number of the originals kept growing... these "divinely" (self) appointed group who wrote countless letter of bible interpretation to gods headquarters kept increasing.

Lance Armstrong
by Hortensia ini've been following the lance armstrong debacle, although i'm not really interested in sports.
it's interesting how at first it was hard to believe that he was guilty of doping, because of his public image.
it seems, though, that the evidence is overwhelming.

Is transfusing your own oxygen rich blood really cheating? No drugs involved. I think it's been established that his heart is bigger than most, I doubt seriously that if I was transfused as a cyclist myself i could have done what he did.

As far as I know, he was tested to the extreme when he was racing. So now, do they have some new methods that find him in violation. If he passed by the rules then they should leave him alone. This does nothing but ruin the sport.

Just curious BizzyBee, do you have any proof of these claims?
Do you have any idea how many people (crazies, prisoners, mentally ill, etc.) try to sue the President of the United States every day for various reasons?

Night Owl,
How about you learn what the word "theory" means to scientists. That might be a good place to start educating yourself.

Watchtower Dishonesty
by Vanderhoven7 injust re-discovered this gem:.
"it is a matter of fact that the history of the watchtower society is riddled with failed date-setting and abandoned doctrine,1 and the society has gone to great lengths to hide this past from its members.
older (incriminating) watchtower publications are virtually impossible to obtain through the society,2 while at the same time members are overwhelmed with "current" watchtower material.. the watchtower society has even gone as far as to publish disinformation about its own history in an attempt to convince readers that watchtower doctrine has remained consistent over the years, and that the society is not a false prophet.

A sure sign the End is Near....
by King Solomon inthe end of the month, that is, and someone apparently needs to get their hours in.... this resourceful jw (in the left side of the photo) set up shop for a few hours outside a local starbucks, with a wt and awake laid out on a table.
and i i don't think he talked to anyone the whole time he was out there (a few hours).. sure beats all that walking from door-to-door, which would likely result in a bunch of not-at-homes on a weekday: most people are at work.. (i approached him when entering, and asked him about the parable of faithful and "discreet" slave, and asked him what he thought the difference was between a parable and prophecy.
after getting a non-answer (that basically meant he didn't know), i wished him a good morning and went on my way.... .

The Truth About Bible Principles: Chastity and Abstinence
by sabastious injehovah's witnesses have a vast array of buzzterms that are fed into them on a regular basis, not the least of which is the term "bible principles.
" for most of my life i was convinced that only members of the watchtower bible and tract society were applying bible principles in the correct way.
this was mainly because we believed we had the correct translation of the holy scriptures which was largely rejected by "satan's world.

Sab,
I don't agree with most of your thinking, but I think you are right on this time.
