i just don't see noah as a preacher, in the sense the society is using it, supported by the bible.. here are my thoughts, yes, they're not scholarly, but they represent how i feel.

feel free to comment in agreement or disagreement or possible sharing some more scholarly information.. genesis 6: 13, 18 and 7:1 clearly show that jehovah had already chosen noah and his family.

I remember as a believer thinking this meant they were eating and drinking in excess, but that is not what it says. And was there something wrong with marriage. I guess what it indicates is that people were living normal lives.

Of course it never happened so who cares.

sometimes i just don't know when to keep my big mouth shut.

today i think finally said enough to get da'd.. for those of you just tuning in, a recap: about 2-3 years i came to realize everything i had been taught as a jw was a load of steaming turds.

since then i have managed to fade away more or less, without incident.

There was a time when I was sure something I said would lead down the DA route but it never materialized. Hope that's the case with you as it makes things easier in dealing with family and friends without the label.

Yup, the ole beard. Actually, that's mainly why I keep hair on my face, I feel it's a sure sign of where you stand.

this last week my wife and i are out shopping at a department store.

my wife is active and i am not.. we meet an active sister from the cong we used to go to about 22 years ago.

once upon a time, as couples, we were best of friends, you know, out to dinners and entertaianing at home.

I used to hear comments like that, when I was viewed as weak. I no longer hear them as now the JW's know I will make comments they don't want to hear. And besides that, they are trying to "win me over without a word", so everything has to be positive. Occasionally someone will slip and I can see my wife cringe because she knows what I am thinking.

just read in the newspaper that some 54% of americans favor creationism and diss darwin.

i know, never trust a stat you haven't faked yourself, but... is creationism (especially yec) really that wide spread in the us?

I read something in the newpaper the other day that stated the percentage believing in creationism in the US was unchanged from 2000, but the number believing in evolution increased from 8% to 13%.

Also in that article it claimed that in the western European countries the number believing in evolution was around 50%.

The Lucci Diller thing caught my eye and I googled it. I first just read Lucci's biography and it mentioned nothing of a Diller connection. Then I typed in Lucci Diller and got the link to Snopes.

I'm finding what you state to be true and I suppose if a person keeps doing that eventually no one will share anything with them. I know my wife never shares anything about the JW's with me, I wonder why?

As I look back on Defd's posts, I see a Jeckyl-Hyde. Sometimes he is nice and other times just plain rude and obnoxious.

I would like to talk to someone from his congregation. I bet they would paint a pretty interesting picture of him.
