  according to jw media, baptism "symbolizes one's dedication to god".. on this basis, a jw's allegiance and obedience is to god.

  thus, the article goes on to state:jehovah's witnesses avoid making rules and regulations beyond those provided in the scriptures.

  The only grounds for divorce is adultry. unless you resume sex with your mate, then you no longer have those grounds.

  SEX = FORGIVENESS is a WT rule that goes beyond the scriptures.

  The whole concept that SEX = FORGIVENESS is not supported anywhere in the bible, or by the most basic logic.

  Forgiveness is the letting go of resentment. Both of these feelings and emotions come from the heart. Sex is a biological act.

  Does a rapist love his victim because he has sex with them?
  Does the victim forgive the rapist because they had sex?
  If I have sex with a prostitute does that mean I love her?

  Forgiveness is much like love; it must come from the heart, not the genitals. If you read about forgivness in the insight on the scriptures it never mentions SEX. They are not related.

  Not only is this policy not bible based, it is actually a trump card that the WTS uses against a very clear scripture at Matthew 19:9

  I say to you that whoever divorces his wife, except on the ground of fornication, and marries another commits adultery.

  Here Jesus gives the only grounds for divorce as adultery. He never said unless you have sex then it does not apply.

  Another man made rule designed to keep people trapped in unhappy marriages.

  Am I crazy or what!

  most of you are are aware that i sent out a letter to friends and family exposing the organizations association with the un.. since that time there have been several very important developments including wtbs dissacociating themselves from the un.. because of this i felt i had to get this new information out to everyone i had writen the origional letter to.. i sent this update to out of town friends and family.i encluded a copy of the un letter announcing wt's dissacociation and the two guardian articles.. my plan met with a problem.i knew my local po had warned everyone not to read anything else from me.i knew he would do this so i even sent him a letter along with the rest to show that i stand behind what i wrote and i'm not afraid of him.. today i did the only thing i could think of,i wrote a new letter to the po.. here it is,.

  dear po 10-16-01. circumstances have changed since my last letter to you and others.. i am honor bound to update you and them of these changes.

  im sure that youve told everyone not to open anything from me so thats why i am writing to you only.. the information i sent earlier was accurate and true at the time but as i stated earlier things have changed.. enclosed please find an official copy of the october 11th 2001 letter announcing the termination of the wtbs association with the united nations.

  Its the Whole Premise that Gets Me

  #1 - original sin: supposedly all this stuff is going on because adam/eve "ate the fruit" (type of fruit still under question).

  because of this, god let billions & billions of people, "his children", suffer imperfection, pestilence, plague, wars,death, etc.

  & let his "true followers" throughout bible history be persecuted because of this "original sin".

  Good questions, here is mine...

  If Adam and Eve would not have eaten the forbidden fruit, but would have ate from the tree of live in a relatively short period of time.

  The whole issue of universal sovereignty would have been still untested and unanswered.

  Just because Adam and Eve didn't sin would not necessarily indicate that one of their offspring would not have sinned. If this is the truth, we were doomed from the start because sooner or later someone would have challenged Gods authority.

  i have been watching the news on cnn and happened to notice the news flashing across the bottom mentioning the state of ohio banning door to door work and jehovah's witnesses!

  has anyone seen this?
