i've seen a few threads/posts where some of y'all have heard from jw contacts and how they've stepped up their 'the end is close' rhetoric because of the earthquake/tsunami in japan.
i usually take those things with a grain of salt.
there's always some jw whose cheese has slipped that reads prophecy into every little thing that happens.
When the first gulf war broke out, I still attended meetings. It was amazing the people who had not been to a meeting in years, began coming back and professing their fail. But after some time, these same folks stopped attending again.
These events today, will boost meeting attendance in the short term. When nothing comes to pass, the hard core JWs will revert back to the brain dead state of waiting. The weak will stop attending meetings again.
Same story, different year.
it might make you feel better but praying will do them no good at all.
please, please consider donating to a legitimate disaster relief charity.
here in the u.k. i'd recommend shelterbox, perhaps some u.s posters could suggest other credible american organisations?.

amidst all the tragedy and bad news lately, i thought i would share something positive.
for those of you who are aware that we are not alone in this universe and that there is a hierarchy of "angels" looking out for us, that disclosure is imminent and that we are headed for a much better world where selfishness and greed are no longer the norm, where mankind will live in peace upon a "paradise earth", free from the wretched clutches of the dark ruling elite (yes, i am talking about the fall of "babylon the great"), then this news is for you: the "elohim" have everything fully under control.. for you skeptics, this is channeled information.

so this weekend my wife had a major grand mal seizure for the first time in her life.
she was rushed to the er.
a few hours later while i was at her side she had another major one.. it was the scariest moment in my life.
and your JW's are saying you are demonized, for supposedly (sp) CAUSEing a seizure ??
This sounds crazy to most people, but is what exactly happened to me when my son had a seizure and it was blamed on me for allowing demons in the family. They use the scripture of the boy who had seizure and was demon possessed as proof text that they are related.
The JWs had my ex-wife convinced they were right and she filed for separation based on 'spiritual endangerment'.

I am glad to hear that your allowing satantic influences to invade your mind did not cause your wife her illness.
Will the elders now admit the Rx meds are evil and from the devil now that they know that was the cause? Or will they still try and pin it on you?

The Watchtower is so backward when my son had a grand mal seizure, they tried to claim my son was demon possessed, (based on scripture, that said the boy was demon possessed and had epalepsy.) Not only was he demon possessed, but it was MY fault.
I am no doctor, but I don't think stress can cause seizures. But that won't stop the whacked out religion from making such claims.

i am a housewife, and no one has knocked on my door to spread the "truth",not even on the weekends.
question, has anyone experienced this... or has the preaching work slowed down?
or are the witnesses less active, zealous?.
Since I quit going to meetings have moved to a new house, am home most every Saturday & Sunday mornings and have not had a JW stop in over 9 years. Not that I am complaining.
