Good one! Excellent to see this positive work going on. I hope it works out, and that others start using your material to take the battle to the streets. From the sound of posts by Outnfree and others, this is already happening at grassroots level. Again, well done!

American / European Incomprehension.
by Englishman inreading through some of the posts re the mcveigh debate, it's obvious that there is a huge divide between the usa and europe over many issues, in particular with reference to the way that society should deal with deviants.. i think that there is a lot of other cultural differences between our societies, and i'm just wondering if this is why the wtbts has had a far higher "conversion factor" in the usa than in europe.. some of the phraseology contained in the watchtower magazines is incomprehensible to europeans.
i remember that words that are in common usage now, were, when first used in the wt, totally baffling.. the expression "no way" wasn't in common use until years after the wt featured it, like wise with "points up", also "right on" meant nothing to anyone.
indeed, many return visits to placed magazine householders resulted in them asking a bewildered dub for an explanation of these then strange terms.

Bajarama:
You may be an arsehole, but McArthur was a bigger one and saved us from eating sushi and teriyaki dishes regularly (rather than occasionally on a night out!). Our wonderful govt. decided to only defend Oz from Brisbane south (which is illegal, according to our constitution). If McArthur hadn't been an arsehole and practically declared marshall law here, who knows what would've happened! (This from one brought up in a staunchly anti-American family!) (Oh, and I love sushi, BTW! LOL)

Org. Re-orging in JAPAN
by JWD infor those of you who haven`t been following it,the wts is in a downward spiral here in japan.fs hours are down, memorial attendance.

The bastards have started taking whatever you give them without giving any change! Before the new donation arrangement came in here in OZ (pre GST, of course!), each mag was 40c. I gave a guy a dollar for two a few weeks ago and he kept it all. Annoying, unless the price (er - suggested donation) has gone up! I'll thump the next one who tries that.

Awake Supports the UN=Unbelievable!!
by Undecided inhi folks,.
the latest awake has the theme:"volunteers-can they make a difference?.
they have a quote from the un(below is a photo-copy)as if to support the un's view of volunteering.. of course they are just trying to protray the jws as good samaritans to the world, when in effect they are trying to get more volunteers to sell mags and recruit more into the cult.. .

Read the Bible to find your beliefs, Fred? Where??? If that's so, why do WBTS "Bible studies" actually consist of studying the Watchtower? I understand that you and your kind only actually "know" 6% of the Bible - the rest has "Here be Draggones" stamped all over it.

Running Man:
I loved the comment about entire tribes being converted by a single page found in a dumpster.
This is another urban myth, this time obviously adapted by the WBTS from a very old urban myth which has been doing the rounds within Christendom for at least 150 years. I read it in a book once in this form: a page from a Bible blew overboard from a ship to a nearby island. The entire population were converted to Christianity as a result. Of course, there was no source and no answers to obvious questions raised such as: "Which island?", "Which page of the Bible?", "How were the natives able to read and understand that page?", etc.
The WBTS version is even more absurd. The only page from a Watchtower which could possibly lead to conversion like this is the "Would you like a visit?" page - which would lead to the love-bombing and indoctrination which then results in conversion.

Making money out of the dead and holocaust
by Kent inas you may know, victims from the nazi camps can get compensation, and the watchtower has naturally found a new way to get money - from the dead!
they propose that they will get the money - and "give it away to needy jws".
since when did the watchtower do anything of the kind?
-
Stephanus
Unbelievable! This sentence in particular:
The Watch Tower would use a portion of the Settlement Fund to support its ongoing research and archival work on the Holocaust and presentations of its findings.
Since when has the 'Tower been capable of unbiased, scholarly research, the results of which it would share without an up front donation???
Fred, if you have this kinky need to be bitten, perhaps one of your cats might oblige!

DISTRICT CONVENTION PUKE!
by biblexaminer inthe district convention is 2/3 done.
would have been better to have stayed home and pulled out my fingernails.
they spouted the usual crap, using the inter-organizational social pressures to push the r&f to do more, do more, do more.. they warned about pornography.

They warned about PORNOGRAPHY. Seems the little Dubbies, specially the elders and MS, can’t stop looking at iNet porno. (The CO warned us about this in a closed meeting a while back.) The ability to restrain oneself from this should come from within. But the WTBTS doesn’t foster that. So there’s no restraint on a dub when there’s nobody around. SO they fixed that. They told all the wives that the “brothers” who are doing the peek-a-boob, are on “late at night or early in the morning”. Now the wives will be doing the watching for the big “O” and keeping the “brothers” pure as the driven snow.
Interesting development, but entirely predictable, given that strange sentence in a WT sometime last year about how elders shouldn't have to check the brothers' computers for "unprofitable" material (can anyone give us the quote?). It seems that the crackdown is beginning. I wonder how effective this using wives to dob on husbands will be; it may have worked in the early seventies when the loyal sisters were coming clean on the evils their husbands made them perform like oral sex, but are the sisters of today that silly? Is the org now overestimating the hold it has over the women? The next few years will be interesting, to say the least, as this drama unfolds as to who has the right to the info on an individual's hard-drive - the individual, or "Gods Org" (tm)?

Watchtower 'Moles'?
by Outaservice inthe cia, israel's mossad, and many other intelligence gathering organizations, plant 'moles' in various places to keep an eye on whats going on (spying).. do you personally believe the society has planted 'moles' in various places?
do they have people in the media (television, radio, newspapers, and news magazines) do they have infiltrators in ex-jw ministries?
are they in the post offices watching the mail.

I don't think the WBTS has the resources, nor the will to pursue such a strategy. 1m members in the US may seem like a lot, but the Southern Baptists have 15m members, just to provide some perspective. I imagine the Society would be as reluctant to let their people have any dealings with the outside world as much as possible, and that would include infiltration. Something as difficult as that requires subtlety of a type the WBTS just doesn't possess; look at the idiotic responses their "finest" produced when Bill Bowen (SilentLambs) blew the whistle. Besides, anyone secretly planted and caught would have negative repercussions which would far outweigh any perceived benefits; the trail would lead directly back to Brooklyn, and as we all know, the boys in Brooklyn prefer to give directives in a way which leaves no trail.
They tend to use the slipstream created by the mainstream. That is, while condemning all govts and political activity they use the religious and political freedoms fought for by others and register their complaints/requests with govts more used to dealing with less slippery people whose motives are more transparent. Besides, greasing the wheels the way you suggest would cost money; we've seen how stingy they are about simple matters like convention venues.

The Horse's Ass Award for May 2001
by seven006 inin every news group, discussion board and chat room there seems to be a few individuals that never seem to completely grasp the art of thinking.
their need to disrupt and irritate reach superstar status in the realm of stupidity.
the desire for attention and recognition though sophomoric post's and chat room spamming becomes as much a part of the entire internet experience as the valuable and useful contributions of others.

Kingdom Halls online
by GinnyTosken inup late and feeling a little silly, i decided to do a search online for "kingdom hall.
" given the society's stance about the dangers of the evil internet, i was a bit surprised to find so many online.. at my favorite site, a kingdom melody in midi format plays when you enter.
if you click on "kingdom hall picture," a seductive, jazzy song plays.

GT:Below is the site for the Kingdom Hall in Judge Rutherford's old hometown. The picture of the Kingdom Hall cracks me up:
It appears to be on a bit of a lean; was it designed by da Judge himself after he'd been on a drinking binge?
